1. Amid the increase in the prices of gasoline and diesel fuel in the country, the government of Liberia reassures the public that there is more than an adequate supply of petroleum products in Liberia to serve the local market for several months.
In a release issued Sunday, the government says there should be no reason for panic buying of gasoline or diesel fuel.
The government is also warning against hoarding the products as it will not tolerate such illegal acts.
The prices of gasoline and diesel fuel have increased globally as a result of the ongoing military conflict between Russia and Ukraine, which has affected supply chains.
The Government of Liberia, through the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, LPRC, and other relevant agencies, has been engaged with importers for an adjustment in the pump price of diesel fuel and gasoline to account for the current increase in the international market to ensure availability and avoid loss to the importers.
An arrangement has been agreed with the importers that will ensure continuous lifting of petroleum products for the various filling stations while discussions continue to conclude on a new pricing structure.
The public is further assured that gasoline and fuel will be available at the major filling stations as long as the importers load their products throughout the weekend.
It says the Ministry of Commerce and LPRC will remain engaged with the importers to derive a mutually acceptable price structure for petroleum products in light of the global increase in the price of petroleum products.

In an interview with Rev. Kolo, he admonished the women of Sinoe County to prioritize education, and he assured them that very soon he was going to establish a vocational school for women's empowerment in Sinoe County that would help to empower women.
2. A group of Sinoeans have expressed concern over the Sinoe Legislative Caucus's delay in conducting a county sitting.
Since the inception of this regime, the county has conducted one sitting under the chairmanship of Hon. Cryton Oldman Duncan. It's during the sitting that funds are stipulated to the various districts for development purposes. The citizens expressed their gratitude to the senator for the confirmation of Hon. Alvin Wesseh and called on the Caucus to consider conducting a sitting for the forward march of the county of Sinoe.
