Cantref Gwaelod

This is another ancient state that was under water. It was once located between the islands of Ramsey and Badsey in the Irish Sea in Cardigan Bay. According to legend, this kingdom was surrounded by walls. There was also a dam that helped protect residents from the stormy sea. However, one of the princes, who had to monitor the condition of the dam, was a drunkard, and due to neglect the sea invaded the land, leaving the mystical country with its inhabitants on the seabed.

Hilton described it as a valley where people lived happily ever after. This place was isolated from modern civilization and was surrounded by the Kunlun Mountains. Exactly where this country may have been is unknown, but many believe it is somewhere in Tibet or northern India. In fact, it is a literary allegory of Shambhala.

Ofir

Mentioned in the Bible as a rich port, Ophir could be in several possible places, as suggested today. According to various versions, this port could be in Africa, Asia or even America. Some sources claim that he was in modern-day Zimbabwe or on the shores of the Red Sea. Others were convinced that this famous port could be in modern Pakistan, India or somewhere in Saudi Arabia. Others said that Ophir was in Peru. Apparently, he could be anywhere, but was he at all?

Avalon is another island closely associated with the legendary King Arthur. According to legend, Avalon was a place famous for apples. It was also the site of Arthur Excalibur's famous sword. For many years it was believed that Glastonbury was the same Avalon from the legends of King Arthur.
