Woman accused of leaving boyfriend in suitcase after a deadly game of hide-and-seek

Winter Park, Fla. - Sarah Boone, is accused of leaving her boyfriend inside of a suitcase to die after a game of hide-and-seek went wrong.

According to police, Sarah and her boyfriend, Jorge Torres was drinking when she put him in the suitcase during a game of hide-and-seek back in February of 2020.

The story quickly took a turn for the worse after investigators found video footage on Sarah's phone of her taunting Torres as he struggled to tell Sarah that he couldn't breathe.

During the video, you could hear Sarah telling Torres "I can't breathe babe", to which Sarah replied, " That's on you, that's what it feels like when you cheat on me."

Sarah told police that they were drinking and she assumed that Torres would be able to free himself.

According to court records, the couple has had a history of domestic violence incidents.

DEARBORN HEIGHTS, Mich. – The man convicted of shooting and killing 19-year-old Renisha McBride on his front porch in 2013 was resentenced to a 15-30 year prison sentence last Wednesday.

In 2014, Theodore Wafer was convicted of second-degree murder, felony fi****ms, and involuntary manslaughter for shooting McBride on the porch of his Dearborn Heights home after she pounded on his door around 4 a.m. on Nov. 2, 2013.

Wafer, now 63, opened his front door and shot McBride in the face through the screen door. He said he was startled out of his sleep by the pounding on his door and he feared for his life. A jury rejected his self-defense claim.

McBride had been in a car accident that night, and prosecutors speculated that she was likely disoriented when she began pounding on the door. She was later found to have been intoxicated at the time of her death.

During the trial in 2014, prosecutors argued that Wafer should have stayed inside and called the police when McBride came to his home.

“His actions that night were unnecessary, unjustified and unreasonable,” prosecutor Danielle Hagaman-Clark told the court on Wednesday, adding there was no evidence of an attempted break-in at the scene.

Evidence showed that McBride was not armed with any weapons and did not have any tools for breaking into a home.

Wafer appeared in the Wayne County Third Circuit Court on June 22 before Judge Dana Hathaway, who resentenced him to 15 to 30 years in prison with credit for time served.

The conviction comes with 15 to 30 years for second degree murder, seven to 15 years for statutory manslaughter and two years consecutively for felony firearm. The involuntary manslaughter charge was thrown out after the Michigan Supreme Court found that Wafer’s constitutional rights were violated when he was convicted of both second degree murder and involuntary manslaughter for the same shooting.

With the manslaughter conviction dropped, he could have seen his sentence reduced to 12-20 years, however Judge Hathaway ordered Wafer to serve the exact same sentence he was originally given, resentencing him to 15 to 30 years in prison with credit for time served.

Wafer has served nearly eight years of a minimum 17 year sentence.

Authorities has issued an arrest warrant for Corrections Official Vicky White for permitting or facilitating an escape in the First Degree (Alabama Code 13A.20.34)

The pair had left the jail facility last Friday and drove straight to the parking lot of a shopping center where her patrol car was left. Vicky White told colleagues that she would be going to a doctor's appointment after dropping Casey White off at the courthouse to other deputies for a mental evaluation.

The duo left the jail facility around 9 am last Friday and officials didn't notice their disappearance until around 3 pm that afternoon.

After an investigation by authorities, there was no mental evaluation or court date set up. Also, VIcky White broke protocol due to it needing to be two correctional officials to transport an inmate with crimes such as Capital Murder.

Casey White confessed to killing a woman in Rogersville, Alabama in 2015. He pleaded not guilty to a capital murder charge and was currently awaiting trial at the Lauderdale County Jail.

Last week police in Grand Rapids, Michigan shot and killed a young Black man named Patrick Lyoya - a Congolese immigrant and father of 2 young girls.

Both the family and a local county commissioner who saw the body camera footage have said that police put a gun to the back of Patrick's head and shot and killed him execution-style. I believe them.

Of course, police and prosecutors are stalling by refusing to release the footage, refusing to name the officer, and giving that officer and others time to scrub their social media history, and get their lies together. It's despicable.

I think this is going to be case that is going to shake the nation.
