George Foreman: "After I lost to Ali in Zaire, I told everyone that l was robbed - the ropes were loose, the water was drugged, then, once l'd changed my nature, I realised what a blemish l'd put on this great man's career.. Why would I go out and spit on his victory to mess up this great man's name?

"It was the last of the 70's, I believe 1978, Ali, I do not know how he got my phone number because he avoided me, he didn't want to give me a title rematch. He called and complimented me for about 20 minutes then he said ‘George, would you do me a favor', he knew I liked him, I said, ‘certainly,’ he said, 'please come back and beat Ken Norton and fight him for me, they are going to strip me of my title and I can't beat him George, you can. He's afraid of you. I'll let you use my training camp and everything.’

"That day forward, we became the best of friends, and, we starting talking on the telephone, he’d call me, I would try to run him down wherever he’d be. We had these religious conversations. His children became good friends with my children. That is where the love affair began, right there at the end of the '70's."

What started as rivalry ended in respect. That loss in Zaire became the beginning of a deep friendship, built on faith, forgiveness, and mutual admiration. Ali and Foreman went from opponents to brothers.

Rocky III is a 1982 American sports drama film written and directed by, and starring Sylvester Stallone. The film is the sequel to Rocky II (1979) and the third installment in the Rocky franchise. In the film, Stallone and Hulk Hogan shared an iconic moment where Hogan made his film debut playing the memorable character Thunderlips, a flamboyant professional wrestler.

Thunderlips faces off against Rocky Balboa (Stallone) in a charity match that humorously pits boxing against professional wrestling. The scene is over-the-top and plays up the showmanship of both sports — with Hogan towering over Stallone at 6'7", making for a dramatic size contrast. Their in-ring brawl quickly escalates beyond the rules, with Thunderlips tossing Rocky out of the ring at one point.

Behind the scenes, Stallone later recalled that Hogan was “throwing me around like a rag doll,” and that he ended up with a bruised collarbone and a few other injuries. Despite the rough shoot, Stallone praised Hogan’s charisma and athleticism, saying that he knew instantly Hulk would become a superstar.

This early 1980s collaboration helped elevate both men’s careers — Rocky III was a massive success, and it helped launch Hogan into mainstream fame just before his WWF (now WWE) explosion in 1984.

Stallone, now 79, released a statement following Hogan’s passing on Thursday, saying he first met his co-star 45 years ago.

“I had the pleasure of meeting this brilliant personality and showman when he was 26 years old,” Stallone said of Hogan. “He was absolutely wonderful and his amazing skill made Rocky three incredibly special. My heart breaks. I think that he’s gone

Deadly Prey opens with Joe Armstrong (Ted Prior), a former Green Beret and Vietnam War veteran, enjoying a quiet life in the Pacific Northwest. When a group of mercenaries led by the ruthless Colonel Hogan Pummell (Jonathan P. Shaw) stages a surprise ambush at Joe’s farmhouse, they abduct him at gunpoint. Joe awakens bound and blindfolded in the wilderness, discovering too late that he has become the target of a sadistic “hunting party.”

Pummell’s outfit is not an official military unit but a private mercenary group offering an illicit survival game: wealthy clients pay to hunt down former soldiers in a “live prey” scenario. Alongside Joe, they’ve also captured a young woman named Betty (Linda McCormick), using her as bait to lure him into the open. Stripped of his weapons and gear, Joe must rely on his combat training, wits, and sheer determination to survive.

As the hunt begins, Joe systematically turns the tables on his pursuers. Using improvised traps, hand-to-hand combat, and guerrilla tactics honed in Vietnam, he picks off member after member of Pummell’s team. A tense showdown in an abandoned lumber mill sees him outmaneuver and incapacitate several heavily armed mercenaries, leaving Pummell both enraged and desperate.

Roy Jones Jr says if Floyd Mayweather Jr doesn’t like his opinions then he can step in the ring with him.

“Roy told Seconds Out: “You want a fight - come on, I mean I ain’t tripping, you ain’t got to troll me.. come see me. That’s who I am, I don’t do talk well. It ain’t going to be no exhibition, I want it real, exhibitions are for people playing, we ain’t playing. I ain’t anyway.

“I can have my own opinion, you got a problem with my opinion then anything I say I’ll be willing to fight about it. If I said it I mean it and if you want to do something about it, come on.”

đŸ„ŠđŸŸ “First, he sold him out of hunger
Then, he bought him back with tears.”

My name is Butkus
and my life changed the day I met Stallone.

It was 1976. He had just $100 to his name.
Living in a rundown boarding house above a subway in New York, barely eating
 surviving day by day.
One afternoon, with nothing left, he made the hardest choice of his life:
He sold me — his dog — for $40 outside a 7-Eleven. 💔

But destiny had bigger plans.

After watching Muhammad Ali fight, inspiration struck. In just three days, Stallone wrote Rocky.
When he sold the script for $35,000, he insisted on starring in it himself. đŸ„ŠđŸ“œïž
And the very first thing he did with the money?

He went back to find me.
The man who bought me didn’t want to give me up
 until Stallone offered him $15,000.
He paid it. With joy. With love. With tears. đŸ˜â€ïž

I came back into his life — not just as his dog, but as his reminder of loyalty, pain, and perseverance.
I even appeared in Rocky II.
And years later, he tattooed my image over a tattoo of his ex-wife — because I stayed when no one else did.

Stallone once said:

“We were two hungry souls living in a tiny room.
I sold him
 and it broke my heart.”

Today, at 78, with another loyal companion by his side, Stallone continues to show the world:
True strength isn’t just in your fists

It’s in your soul.
And in the loyalty of those who never leave your side. đŸ¶đŸ–€

“A dog doesn’t just walk beside you.
He becomes the hope that holds you through the hardest days.”

— The real story of Stallone & Butkus

Bloodsport (1988) is a martial arts action film directed by Newt Arnold and starring Jean-Claude Van Damme in his breakout role as Frank Dux. Loosely based on alleged true events from Dux’s own life, the film combines high-stakes underground fighting with a story of honor, discipline, and perseverance.

The film begins with Frank Dux, an American soldier and martial artist, preparing to travel to Hong Kong to participate in the Kumite—a secret, full-contact martial arts tournament held once every five years. Despite being on active duty, Dux goes AWOL, determined to honor his Shidoshi (teacher) Senzo Tanaka, who trained him in the ways of ninjutsu since childhood. Tanaka had lost his own son, and Dux took his place in the traditional warrior lineage.

First Blood (1982) is a gritty action drama that introduced audiences to John Rambo, a troubled and misunderstood Vietnam War veteran. Directed by Ted Kotcheff and based on David Morrell’s 1972 novel, the film explores the psychological scars of war, alienation, and the consequences of pushing a man too far.

The story begins as John Rambo (Sylvester Stallone), a former Green Beret and Medal of Honor recipient, arrives in a small town in Washington state in search of a fellow soldier from his unit. Upon learning his friend has died from cancer—likely caused by Agent Orange exposure—Rambo is left with no connections and nowhere to go. Wandering into the town of Hope, Washington, he is met with hostility by the local sheriff, Will Teasle (Brian Dennehy), who sees him as a drifter and troublemaker. Teasle arrests Rambo on trumped-up charges, setting off a chain of events fueled by misunderstanding, pride, and trauma.

While in custody, Rambo experiences flashbacks to his time as a prisoner of war in Vietnam, where he was tortured. The mistreatment by the deputies triggers his PTSD, and he violently escapes into the nearby forest. A massive manhunt ensues, with Teasle calling in state police and even the National Guard. However, they quickly learn that Rambo is no ordinary fugitive. Using his survival skills and combat training, Rambo evades and outwits the heavily armed pursuers, wounding them non-lethally in order to survive.
