Broiler Update 10/15/24, AM: 30,000 birds left as another site was added to the list and Galesville was updated.

Let's get the rest of the birds out today. It sounds like a bit of a cutoff point for most of the farmers and birds, so if you are going to go, please do so now. We will be posting a bit more about what happened and next steps to make sure this doesn't happen again once these birds are gone, but the focus is still on getting the rest of these animals out and processed right now.

Today is still a school day for me, so I may be a bit slow to respond to messages and comments. Please, stay respectful. Of the farmers, the birds, the equipment, and other people picking up animals. This is not the place nor time for ethical debates - that can happen later. If you are traveling or making routes, please let others know and keep everyone informed of barn conditions and birds remaining. Again, I will have information later on next steps people can take to help, but birds need to be out first.

Thank you again to everyone who has been sharing, commenting, picking up birds, transporting for others, and stepping forward to help. This is exactly why people are proud to be in the farming community.
