This episode will resonate for anyone who is a caregiver of neurodiverse children. It’s amazing and so needed and helpful. I love how she said that it can be lonely. It really can. My husband and I have often felt alone in our journey with three neurodiverse children. It’s hard sometimes. I love...

Healing. It takes time. Effort. Patience. It’s going to hurt. It just is. It’s no different from physical healing. When you get physically hurt, there is pain. Healing physically includes pain. Healing emotionally and mentally is no exception. But it is so worth it. When you take the time and pu...

I’m going to split this up into two parts. For Parents: You are responsible for your child. Period. Your child relies on you for a safe space. For comfort. Love. Safety. Everything. You are your child’s everything. Take that responsibility seriously. Always. For everyone: Notice what’s going o...

Wow. Chelsea is a beautiful and amazing human being. Especially with everything that she has been through. She is not hardened or closed off, but rather sweet, kind, and welcoming. I wish you could just be in her presence for a little while so you could feel the love and kindness that she emanates.

This episode re-released today! It’s a great one. I’ve been very quiet during Pride Month, but that’s only because we have had a LOT going on. I think it’s pretty obvious by now that I fully love and support those in the LGBTQ+ community. And if you have lost friends or family because of who you love, know that you have a friend, sister, or mother in me.

Ben Spackensen is the amazing human in this episode. He talks about having shingles, not connecting to his emotions, and being in a heteros*xual marriage that eventually ended, and how he is now married to a man where he can be authentically himself. It’s a great listen. Listen on your favorite app or at scarsweshare.com/podcast/episode087

Ben was an absolute pleasure to talk with. His physical scar deals with a pretty rough experience with shingles. His internal scar is based on how he pushed his emotions down for so long they became difficult to access. There is so much more to the story though! Ben is gay, a former Mormon, has thr
