Hark! 💀 We have important news: we are taking a break from releasing content on our main feed for a few months. A combination of life-stuff and a need to focus on our art/ local community means we don't have time to edit, but we will continue playing and building up our backlog of episodes. We also released our second patreon-exclusive, all-goblin episode, and we hope to release another during our hiatus. It's been fun and challenging, and we continue to learn more about DnD and Podcasting with every episode we release. We were gifted this 1979 proto-rpg called "Magic Realm"; amazingly, most of the pieces are still here! As opposed to most modern TTRPGs, Magic Realm doesn't draw inspiration from Advanced Dungeons and Dragons because it was in circulation alongside that first iteration of DnD. As a result, Magic Realm doesn't adhere to the fantasy troupes that have been made popular by DnD.

It has been lauded as one of the hardest games to learn, but its cult following insists it continues to deliver a unique and immersive experience unlike any other. I'm especially fascinated by the box art which, as far as I can tell, is one of the earliest examples of imagery depicting an omnipotent game-master overlooking player characters.
