Throughout the month of December, the Kosrae Communicable Diseases Program has been united in the fight against HIV/AIDS.

The program has conducted voluntary STI/HIV testing for individuals wishing to know their status, providing incentives to encourage participation. Additionally, SMS awareness messages on.HIV/AIDS have been sent to all SIM card holders in Kosrae, further raising awareness.

Community outreach activities have been organized to educate the public, with a particular focus on identifying key populations at higher risk.

This initiative has been supported by our Kosrae State Hospital Director and the National Communicable Diseases Program, underscoring our commitment to combating HIV/AIDS and promoting public health.

UNICEF, in partnership with the Kosrae Department of Health Services (DHS), is working closely with local mayors to provide free rapid home water test kits for our communities. These kits empower residents to easily test their drinking water and ensure it’s safe. This initiative is in response to rising cases of waterborne illnesses, like amoeba infections and diarrhea, and is an important step in protecting our community's health.

By identifying unsafe water sources early, we can all help reduce the risk of illness and promote a healthier environment for everyone.
Alongside this distribution, our team is raising awareness about water sanitation practices and ways to improve water safety at home.
Together, we can create a safer, healthier future for all.
