OKAAAAY! IT'S EARLY IN THE MORNING AND I'M SO HYPED!
I WOKE UP TO THIS AND LITERALLY, THIS IS GIVING ME ALL THE ENERGY I NEEDED LMAO.
IMMA DISECT THE DANCE. I LOVED EVERY MOMENT OF IT. IT IS SO DYNAMIC, YET DELICATE AT THE SAME TIME. THAT IS WHAT I LOVE MOST ABOUT THIS ROUTINE, THE SHIFT FROM DYNAMIC TO DELICATE IS SEAMLESS!
FIRST, @ 0:18 during Akali's rap part. Man, if this doesn't capture Akali's personally, then I don't know what will. Hahaha if someone's out their who's just as bored as me, enumerate all the previous dance crazes they put on this part of the routine. I loved the "whoa", i saw a modified "shoot", 2 "dabs", and a Jabbawoki dance move. Hahahaha I loved it, so current, so viral. Also it makes sense, Akali is the group's ๐ข๐๐ ๐ฃ๐๐ (Seraphine not counted, just the four so Jhin can be happy) so she's the one who'll really nail all these viral dance steps. ๐๐๐ป๐ฎ๐บ๐ถ๐ฐ.
And then we transition to the pre-chorus, Evelynn's "๐ด๐๐ ๐ผ'๐๐ ๐๐ฃ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ค, ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐ข๐ ๐๐ ๐ ๐กโ๐๐๐๐." part. It's so soft it's almost sensual, i'll say. I loved how they curved their arms to mimick Eve's tails @0:46, nothing but genius for me! ๐ฏ I also loved how they put their hands on their heads to symbolize a crown, we've seen that since Pop Stars. People even criticized the Baddest's official dance routine for not having the signature "hands as crown" step in it. So yeah, here it's ๐๐ฒ๐น๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ.
So the chorus comes, and it's everything we've seen in the music video. I loved how the camera
was steady and was distanced tastefully. I could not really make out much of the dance moves in the MV because the camera was always moving around and zoomed in on KDA's faces. It's very well orchestrated for me. The animation studio who did the MV captured the choreography hundred percent. If you're wondering who animated the More MV, it's https://axisstudiosgroup.com. they also animated Wild Rift's trailer!
We now arrive to stanza 2, Kai'sa rap part. OMG, i just realized, the stanzas are made of entirely rap parts. Hahahaha that's is beyond cool! But in this segment of the dance routine, it's a wonderful contrast of dynamic vs delicate. The rap is dynamic, but the dance? The dance captures Kai'sa line "๐ผ ๐๐๐'๐ก ๐๐๐ก ๐๐ ๐ ๐๐๐๐, ๐ผ'๐ ๐ ๐๐๐๐๐." It's not only dynamic nor only delicate, it is ๐ฏ๐ผ๐๐ต. It has ballet elements in it, since Kai'sa is a ballerina if you've read the KDA comic, but it aslo has this ๐๐๐๐๐, ๐๐๐๐๐ dance step for "๐ผ ๐๐๐'๐ก ๐๐ ๐คโ๐๐ก ๐ฆ๐๐ข ๐ ๐๐ฆ" line at 1:35. I love sassssss and the attitude, go tell 'em who's the boss here, queen!
So we now go to this refrain, Eve's line "๐โ๐๐ก'๐ โ๐๐โ๐๐ ๐กโ๐๐ ๐ก๐๐ ๐ก๐๐? ๐โ๐๐ก'๐ ๐๐. ๐ถ๐๐๐ ๐ก๐๐๐ ๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ก ๐๐ฆ ๐๐๐๐ก." I swear I get gay panics whenever I listen to this part of the song. Hahahaha, sheesh! Hot. The dance captures that narrative by Eve just struttin', her hips swayin, and the crowd gets divided. YES. Make way, the empress is here!
Then comes Ahri's part to the song. I love how the refrain is equally divided by both Evelynn amd Ahri. As we know, they both founded KDA (read the comiccc). I love that they get equal share to this part of the song. So Eve says "๐ถ๐๐๐ ๐ก๐๐๐ ๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ก ๐๐ฆ ๐๐๐๐ก.",
and Ahri replies "์กฐ์ฉํ ๋ชธ์ ์, ์ฌ ๋ด. [(Coz that the only drop they'll be)
***omg, bars. No mic drop for you lmao***]
So take a look, ๋๋ฅผ ๊ธฐ์ตํด (you better recognize) a queen."
And I love that, women lifting each other up. So powerful ughhhhhh. The dance captured this by giving Ahri a sense of focus, like a spotlight moment right there. Perfeccct, but! It doesn't stop theeeereeee.
We're on to my most fav part, i mean the Akali part was my most fav, but this one really caught my attention and it stuck with me. The 2nd pre-chorus, well it's the same pre-chorus lyric wise but the dance is different huuuuuu they're so diligent in this routineee hnnng. In the pre-chorus, Ahri literally says "์ ์ ํ ๋ฉด ๋์ ๋ณด๋ ๊ฑฐ์ผ (I don't do middle or a little), you want MORE." And that's what we're getting here, more dance steps.
And what can I say? We've had modern to ballet, to hip-hop, and now they're giving us cultural dance. Because at exactly 2:00 they do the Thai "Thousand Hand" dance. And it's so ๐ด๐ฒ๐ป๐ถ๐๐ I'm about to cry. They did it to mimic Ahri's 9 tails. This was it for me, it closed the deal. Yes moree pleaaaase! ๐๐ฒ๐น๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ.
Jump right at the 2nd chorus and it's also a different choreography to the first. Look at 2:08, they're back to modern. That's a little bit of a "shuffle" right there. Man. Yes, more dance steps please. ๐๐๐ป๐ฎ๐บ๐ถ๐ถ๐ถ๐ถ๐ฐ.
Head over now to a complete different mood, Seraphines part. More dance genres please, because this part is totally lyrical. This part reminded me of Ian Eastwood and Chachi Gonzales. Aww. Hahahahaha. This part is ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐น๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ.
And then finally, the 3rd and last chorus. Everything has just been building up to this point. The constant jump from dynamic to delicate eliminated any sort of dull moment, we've been on the edge of our seats the whole time. This last chorus is the same to the 2nd, but add Seraphine. It tells KDA's story, how even with a new member, it is still totally the same KDA we have loved before. This part is the release, and it's pleasant and soothing to the end.
There you have it. Man that was a long one. Thank you if you have read this far hahahahaha! I was so hyped I didn't notice how long and how much I have already typed. I would love to see all the covers coming in, and tho I don't dance, you're sure you have somebody who appreciates and notices every single detail of effort you put into your art. Yes. Not a single flick of your finger will go unappreciated. โ๏ธ
