Well it’s here!! The long awaited three-point contest has arrived. Connor and Blair recently headed down to the ‘Sabredome’ to take on former BPB podcast guest, Sandringham Sabres NBL1 captain and Melbourne United DP, Campbell Blogg.
In a battle of the Burns Brothers v Blogg, who will come out on top?? 👀🤷♂️
3-point shooting is Bloggy’s domain and he’s been hitting buckets at the Sabredome since he was a youngster, so we knew it would be a tough battle.
Check out how it went. We have to thank @emmajars heaps for helping organise this and lending us some cool equipment. Also a big thanks to @sandringhamsabres_ for having us down at the Southern Basketball Stadium and of course @campbellblogg for taking us on and showing us a thing or two from the arc.

The boys are locked in, it has been promised for a long time, but this week your favourite twins, Connor and Blair will go head to head against one of the great shooters. 🏀
@campbellblogg is a certified baller and is captain of the @sandringhamsabres_ in the @nbl1south competition. He is currently trying to take his team all the way in the finals series. He is a DP for @melbunited and a former guest of the BPB poddy. And he is a classy outside shooter.

Shea Ili post-game interview v Hobart 🎥🟠🔵
We caught up with NBL star and Sabres NBL1 guard Shea Ili post the win against the Hobart Chargers on Saturday.
Fresh off returning from the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament held in Europe and North America, “Shili” averaged 23 points playing against Croatia and Slovenia.
Upon returning for the Sabres he put up a casual 12 points in only 15 minutes, as we won by 36 points.
Shea and the boys now turn their attention to their Qualifying final against Mount Gambier this Saturday with a preliminary final spot on the line.

Brittany Smart post-game interview v Hobart 🎥🟠🔵
We caught up with Sabres and basketball legend Britt Smart after announcing her retirement at seasons end.
After a major injury lay-off that has seen her miss a large part of the NBL1 season, Smart churned out a vintage performance with 17 points and 3 steals in just 17 minutes on court.
The girls now turn their attention to the Elimination Final against Waverley this Saturday 5pm at the Sabre Dome. Make sure to get down their and support the team this weekend

C.J. Asuncion-Byrd post-game interview v Eltham 🎥🟠
We caught up with Sabres live wire C.J. Asuncion-Byrd after the men’s loss against Eltham last Friday night.
CJ scored 11 points and had 2 steals in the game, continuing another impressive season individually. The boys currently sit 3rd on the NBL1 south ladder and will look to go deep into the finals, with CJ being an important piece of that.

Hannah Wickstrom post-game interview vs Eltham🎥🟠
We caught up with Sabres young gun Hannah Wickstrom after the girls loss against an impressive Eltham Wildcats team last week.
Hannah put up 7 points and 4 rebounds in the loss, and continues to build after making the step from Youth League where she has dominated.
She heads off to America soon to pursue her college career, the Sabres fell short again against Ballarat Miners tonight. 🏀

Connor caught up with Tanner Krebs following a 6pt loss to Nunawading Spectres on Sunday night. Krebs has been huge for the Sabres since he signed, following his strong contribution to a great @melbunited team in the @nbl .
He is a sharp-shooter from beyond the arc and offers incredible versatility to the side with his height. Expect him to continue this form into this weekend’s clash against Melb Tigers at the Sabredome 🟠🟠
