My good buddy Kelley Oneal
sent me a link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P5cvAZIEgNU of he and I playing on tour with the Winans Family (he on sax, me on the bass), as I was reading the youtube comments, a guy mentioned how well the band sounded, and in particular the bass. They then made the assumption that this must be gospel legendary bassist Andrew Gouche, which led me to think how many other great musicians have I been confused with, I then searched on youtube for a song I played with Speech called "Like Marvin Said" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xIG6Qgntm44 in which Foley from Miles Davis/George Clinton appears in the video, but clearly it's me on the recording, they commented on how well he sounded too, then I searched the rapper Bonecrusher's song "Never Scared" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ryIjCkw3Jfg I produced, and the comments were arguing whether producer Lil Jon Smith
or Jermaine Dupree produced the song. I'm writing this to say that old cliche' is right, it truly is an honor to even be mentioned/confused with these awesome musicians, hey who knows, at this rate, maybe in 20 yrs, someone will see me in Tyler Perry's "Madea's Family Reunion" playing the bass and say. "is that Denzel Washington?" Lol
