Treaties that continue to be violated to this day. Hawaii will regain its independence & celebrate a new Lā Kūʻokoʻa 🌱

Come march in support of striking workers at the Hilton Village on Saturday, Nov 2 through Waikiki. Stand with our workers & against greedy corporations who continue to extract wealth off Hawaii’s shores & refuse to pay those who run the hotel a living wage. 1 job should be enough.

FEMA said last week it faces a nearly $9 billion shortfall for Hurricane Helene recovery efforts.

On the same day, Israel announced a $8.7 billion weapons package from the US.

Our tax dollars are funding Israeli war crimes instead of the investments we desperately need here.

Show up and speak out TONIGHT Wednesday 7/10/24 for sign waving at 5 pm and oral testimony at 6 pm on the Army’s Draft Environmental Impact Statement on three parcels - Makua, Poamoho, and Kahuku.

At each hearing there will be opportunities to make a sign, write your testimony, and to get a FREE shirt (for the first 100 at each hearing). Dozens of groups are expected to attend.

The written comment period is open for the Army’s Draft Environmental Impact Statement the comment period closes on August 7, 2024. Go to bit.ly/ARMYLEASES to find out how to submit testimony online or via mail.

Free Kanaky 🇳🇨

8 members of Kanak pro-independence political leadership have been detained & illegally extradited from their homeland of New Caledonia to France for planning demonstrations against French attempts to hijack their independence referendum process by adding 20,000 French settlers into their voting pool.

This is disgraceful colonial & draconian behavior that we cannot allow to happen quietly. Stand in solidarity with our Oceania cousins fighting for their right to self determination on their sovereign lands.

This could be our one chance in our lifetime to get the US military off Kauai. At Pohakuloa their lease is for 65 years. I am still learning about this wahi and its history, but I hope to meet more knowledgeable people and to learn more 🙏🏻 I requested a copy of the current lease on 5/15, hope to get it before the first hearing. Let me know if you want me to send it to you once I have it.

🇵🇸🚨June 8 marks eight months of US-Israeli genocide of the Palestinian people, and marks the 54th anniversary of the occupation of Gaza.

A month ago, Biden said that the invasion of Rafah was a red line. But now, the invasion of Rafah has continued for weeks, has expanded to the entire Gaza Strip, Biden’s red line is nowhere to be seen. Instead of following through and stopping military aid to Israel, Biden has authorized billions more in weapons shipments to be used to kill and massacre Palestinians.

Biden can’t draw the line, but we can. On June 8, we will come together from across the country and surround the White House. Wearing red, and raising our demands high, we will show the world that we are the red line. We demand an immediate ceasefire, an immediate end to the siege on Gaza, the freedom of all Palestinian prisoners, and an end to the occupation of Palestine.
