LMC's first YouTube video was supposed to get done today, but I was home alone with the kids AND it decided to rain all day, so recording was out of the question with all of the noise.

However, I DID manage to get an intro made for my videos! It's basic. Nothing fancy. But I'm giving myself a pat on the back for this one 😄

Keep an eye out for videos. I promise they are coming, but doing this is a hobby for me and tends to get pushed behind the dozens of other things I absolutely must do as a wife/mom/missionary.

You spoke and I heard!

Losing My Culture will be moving from podcast to video format!

I wanted to try my hand at podcasting, and I loved it, but I started wondering if videos would reach more people (hence the poll in my last post). Sure enough, 80% of you said you'd prefer videos to podcast. So, for the time being, I'll be sharing videos on cultural topics from a biblical perspective.

Some perks:
- Videos will be (much) shorter than podcast episodes.
- I can include visual aids, such as a pictures and Bible verses.
- I'll be expanding my topics. In the podcast I tried to help people see the world from a different POV by talking about topics that affected both American culture vs African culture. I'll still do that, but I'll also be discussing things that may not necessarily be a big deal in one culture compared to the other.

Hey, thanks for sticking with me! I'm still really excited to keep putting out content that I hope helps you see things from a different perspective.

Since Easter is coming up, my first video will be on the topic of the Easter Bunny! After church the other day we had someone ask if Christians should participate in that tradition, and I thought it would be great to address it in a video.

I'll also be re-doing my podcast episodes into (short) videos, so keep an eye out!

Change in episode schedule!

This may seem like a bold statement, but it's likely that a large percentage of the people you know who call themselves "Christian" are not actually born-again believers. So, how can we know who is a "cultural Christian" as opposed to a born-again believer?

Tune in next Monday, and we'll take a look at various "Christian" practices found in American and African culture. And, as always, we'll open up Scripture and find out how we can try and discern who's who among those who claim to know God.

(If you listened to last week's episode on "Traveling With Kids" you'll remember that I said I'd be talking about the ways in which different cultures view and treat children, but that episode is on hold for now.)

Since episodes of LMC will be released bi-weekly, I'd like to share some resources and/or encouragement with you related to the previous episodes during the in-between time.

The topic of our last episode was "Immigrants and Refugees", so let me introduce you to Send Relief. Compassion ministries open doors to the gospel, and Send Relief is all about sharing the love of Jesus in word and deed.

I'll talk some more about them in the next LMC episode, but one of the many ways Send Relief shares the good news of Jesus is through caring for refugees.
