🧡 Introducing our son’s nursery - the Igbo Baby Oasis🧡

It was deeply important to me that our baby be surrounded by his Nigerian roots. We included a picture of our traditional Igbo wedding, a photo of his great grand relatives in David’s village, album covers of African artists, the traditional Igbo sock cap, and David’s fan with his father’s chief name that we had made Nigeria. 🧡 🇳🇬

Can’t wait to see him try jollof, egusi soup and fufu for the first time - probably will be ready for it straight out of the womb! 🍼🌶️

As I near the end of my pregnancy, it’s impossible to fully articulate the journey. So many aspects of the experience are contrary to each other, but true all at the same time. I feel an all consuming love for my son, who I haven’t even laid eyes on. I feel my prior life slipping away from me. I feel fear, but I also feel ready. When my son is born, a mother will also be born. I can’t wait to meet them both 💗

Last year we embarked on the lifelong journey of marriage. This year, we get the blessing of welcoming our son. What a beautiful life we share.

this wedding was an absolute MOVIE! it still feels like a dream being by your side in Nigeria on your big day 👰🏿 there is no other waist I’d want to help sn**ch, bride I’d want to dance in, and certainly no other bride I’d be a “fake bride” for 🤣 (slide 4 — in Yoruba culture they send in veiled “fake brides” to test the groom to ensure he is serious and picks the right bride. I wasn’t picked… rude .rotex 🤣🤣)

My fiancé is officially a CEO!! I could not be more proud of you, David! I’m proud of how you handled all the “no’s” with grace & persistence, how you kept your cool throughout the highs & lows (while I did not lol), and most of all, proud of how you took a bold bet on yourself. 🥲🎉🥰

Oh & here’s a few pictures of the craziness of the last 48 hours. Including finding a notary in the middle of Arizona & printing out a 500 page document at my grandma’s house lol

I feel blessed beyond measure to have these incredible, amazing, endlessly generous friends in my life!

I cannot get over how Kevwe pulled together the most beautiful, aesthetically pleasing engagement party in San Diego for David and I. All the details - blended mimosas, baileys & coffee, pastries & eggs (for David only, no cheese!), flowers from my mom - were so us.

I’m in awe that everyone woke up early after drinking until the wee hours of the night to get this set up. And special shout out to Frank who used his own lungs to blow up 70+ balloons for a balloon arch 🥲 that is true dedication.

I love each of you sooooo much & can’t wait to have you all in the bridal party 👰🏻‍♀️
