Mr. Peter Obi accompanied by Prof Pat Utomi, visits the widow of Late Gov Rotimi Akeredolu, Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, and the entire Akeredolu Family, to commiserate with them over the demise of their late patriarch .

The Labour Party's presidential candidate in statement released on his verified Facebook handle after the visit, said "late Gov Akeredolu was the President of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, and subsequently as a Governor, he stayed consistent on how to build a better Nigeria where there would be respect for the rule of law, security of lives and properties of Nigerian citizens".

He further stated that the late governor believed in a restructured and productive Nigeria.

"May God who it pleased to call him home at this time grant him eternal rest and grant his dear wife, Mrs Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, the entire Akeredolu family, and all of us who mourn him, the fortitude to bear his irreplaceable loss" he stated.

I was sleeping on the floor in Phyno’s house before I blew – Rapper Zoro.

Nigerian hip-hop artiste, Owoh Chimaobi Chrismathner, popularly known as Zoro Swagbag, has revealed that famous rapper Phyno accommodated him at some point before hitting stardom.

According to him, he was sleeping on the floor in one of the empty rooms in the Penthauze Record label boss’ house before his hit song ‘Ogene’ gained traction.

He disclosed this in the latest episode of the Zero Conditions podcast.

Zoro said, “When my song ‘Ogene’ dropped, I was still in Phyno’s house. I was sleeping in an empty room that didn’t had a bed. I just had my shirt that I tie my dirty clothes on and use it as pillow and sleep on the floor.

“I loaned money to fund the video of ‘Ogene’. Flavour also supported me.”

He said he left Phyno’s house in 2016 after someone stole the Penthauze boss’ money.

Zoro said ‘Ogene’ blew up in the diaspora first before fans in Nigeria hooped on the trend.

Daniel Okafor, the second son to actor John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu, has debunked claims by Stella Okafor, the actor's wife, that Jasmine, Mr. Ibu's adopted child, hijacked his bank account.

Stella took to her Instagram page on Sunday to allege that Jasmine hijacked the bank account where money was donated for the ailing actor by well-meaning Nigerians.

Her post partly read, "I do not have access to the main Access bank account where people make donations. It is being secretly controlled by Jazmine yet she is cooking up all kinds of lies and propaganda against me to keep absolute control of that account. How she manipulated her way and took control of that account is a story for another day."

PUNCH Online contacted Jasmine, who stated that she had no comment.

“I do not want to be involved with the online drama, at least not yet. I am more concerned for Daddy's well-being,” she said.

Jasmine suggested that our correspondent speak with Mr. Ibu's son, who introduced himself as Daniel Okafor.

"My name is Daniel Okafor; I am John Okafor's second son.

"There is no truth in what Stella Maris has been sharing online. Jasmine does not have access to that account; I have access to it. I am the signatory to the account and my father's next of kin."

Daniel also disclosed that Stella Maris is his stepmother, refusing to share more details about his mother.

"She is my step mother. My mother is not around at the moment," Daniel said.

Mr Ibu's Leg Amputated

Nollywood actor and comedian John Okafor popularly known as Mr Ibu who has been sick has disclosed that his leg has been amputated after undergoing seven surgeries.

A post on Mr Ibu's page on Monday revealed that the leg was amputated to keep him alive as the family solicits support from well-meaning Nigerians to aid his recovery process.

The post reads: "We want to appreciate everyone that has come through for our dad, saying we are grateful is an understatement and only the good Lord can thank you all enough for every help you've rendered.

"As of 1 pm, noon today, Daddy has gone through 7 successful surgeries but to keep him alive and increase his chances of recovery one of his legs had to be amputated.. This development has been hard on us all but we've had to accept it as Daddy's new reality to keep him alive.

"Please we are still soliciting support from well-meaning Nigerians at this stage Daddy is still one very delicate one and he needs all the help he can get.

"Thank you, everyone, the Okafor family is grateful and we don't take you for granted. In due time Daddy will personally acknowledge everyone who supported them during this period as soon as he’s stable!"
