Yesterday I was going to town and as I was looking for what to wear I discovered my favourite little black dress 👗 calling. I got It from Shiku Maina the best plug for thrifted clothes in Nakuru.

It was going to be the first time to wear in 2024. I got ready and stepped out.

This kind of circular dress requires a proper weather forecast as it doesn't go well with wind 🍃. As I was walking to the main road to catch a tuk tuk 🛺 (this is the main public transport we use huku kwa wadosi Nakuru🤭), the weather was so calm and I was good to go.

Wacha niingie town, kushuka Tu hivi, the wind started teasing me and threatening me here and there.😏😏

I had to walk holding my dress down and hapo I remembered how mkurugenzi Abel Mutua made a prayer ati if you watched his videos without subscribing to his channel upepo ikikupata na dress k**a hii utaipata imekufunika kichwa k**a onion 🧅 😂😂.
Thank God I have been a faithful fan for years and hii laana haiwezi nipata. However I couldn't stop myself from praying that I will not mistakenly bump into a mad person 😂 zimuonyeshe asaidie upepo.

It was a very long afternoon and the fact that I had to go shopping kwa soko it was even harder as you need to bend to sort the goods you need to buy but my big siz Alice Mukera was there for me through it all 🤗😊.

Hii nguo ilinitesa sana and this year sitaki tena kuteseka juu ya mambo ya dunia.
In short, hii nguo sitawai vaa mchana in town k**a sina gari ama zile bikers we abandoned in the petticoat era. Don't let the trends of this world and influence stress you, instead let God be part of your decision making this year.

CUFFED SEASON
A cuffing Season is when you're stuck and in love with people or things that don't love us back because we are lonely and desperate.

GOOD MORNING 🌞,





About a year ago, I was arrested for the very first time in my entire life. The worst part about is I was a 4months postpartum lactating mother.

I spent hours in held in police custody. I was not cuffed during the arrest but when I was brought to the station it all dawned on me. I was innocent of the charges and that made me angry 😡.
(Details of the arrest is a story for another Day )
However that didn't change the fact I was already behind bars.
My phone and car keys were consificated and I was not given the opportunity to make a call. (Typical of Kenyan police)

Soon it was already daylight and it started dawning on me how my nanny and my children could be worried about me as they didn't know my where about, my breasts were engorged with milk, (mothers know the pain and psychological torture that comes with it)
"🙀oooh no how is my infant coping without his mother, how did I even land myself in so much trouble as to get arrested?"

All I could do at this point was cry and silently pray to God get me out this and take back to my babies.
Anyway, later that afternoon, after insisting on my one phone call right, my sister came to my rescue and after parting with a substantial amount of extortion, I was released.

When I got home I was so happy to see my children then I reflected on how I would have avoided the situation if I was where I was supposed to be.
Instead, I had left my 4months old baby 🍼 and gone out to hang out with people who didn't even care about my wellbeing all night leading to the misunderstanding that took me to police custody.
'Often we are cuffed to someone or things we love and they don't usually love us back.' Judges 16-4

While I was having fun, I didn't at any point see anything wrong with what I was doing, I actually justified it with arrogance just because I thought I had in control, I had a nanny, my baby 🍼 had baby formula to drink and I had the money to do what I want.
It was when I got in trouble that I realised my irresponsible actions had consequences.
You can never pick right when in Pain. If you don't deal with your pain 😭 you'll remain cuffed to the same patterns that lead you away from your calling.

We are going through some pain probably from past traumatic experiences or pain from our childhood, marriages or school.
We are often inclined to think we are over the pain when in actual sense, untreated pain overtime affects more areas of your life.

This things or people that we are attached/cuffed control how we live our lives leading us to step out of God's parameters set to protect us.

Like in the picture illustration, this people seem to have been cutting trees, and not replanting others now they need water to cool their engine but there's none in the environment they created. We often create toxic environments that become unbearable to us too and then we start lamenting to God asking, "why does God let us suffer?"

God created us with his will for us at heart, he set us out with parameters that will keep us safe from the enemy for our own good. Lakini Sisi ni nani? We have come up with our slogans "YOLO, LIFE IS SHORT, BORA NI ENJOY, HARIBU MWILI TUTAPEWA MPYA MBINGUNI..... name them...

The stories of Adam and Eve and Samson and Delilah are perfect examples of what happens when we step out of God's parameters, we are exposed to the enemy and the enemy does as he pleases with us including taking away our powers/talents and visions so we never see God's grace and we are left to struggle and grind so hard with no hope of ever rising again.

‭‭Judges‬ ‭16:20‭-‬21‬ ‭
[20] Then she called, “Samson, the Philistines are upon you!” He awoke from his sleep and thought, “I’ll go out as before and shake myself free.” But he did not know that the Lord had left him. [21] Then the Philistines seized him, gouged out his eyes and took him down to Gaza. Binding him with bronze shackles, they set him to grinding grain in the prison.

I pray that God will give us grace to see His love and perfect will for us and uncuff of from familiar patterns. In Jesus mighty name. Amen 🙏

Lovers of Self and Money

2 Timothy 3: 3-5
3 But know this, that in the last days [a]perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, [b]unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power.

One of the messages we keep hearing in this generation is that of loving self. Yes, we ought to love ourselves and I believe that is inborn for even Jesus told us to love our neighbor as we love ourselves.

What is concerning is this self-love that goes overboard this is the kind that makes one think that they are the center of the universe. Everything is about them and it seems like the world revolves around them. This becomes the foundation for all the other evil character traits described in our main scripture. (2Timothy 3:3-5)

Self-lovers come first in their own eyes and then God will come in second. They are not willing to sacrifice for anything or anyone unless self is elevated and will benefit from it.
Paul tells us that we should consider others as better than self, he also tells us not to think of ourselves more highly than we ought to.

This ungodly kind of self-love leads to the love of money because everything is about you. We live in a generation today where the avenues and opportunities to make money are unbelievable.
The "prosperity gospel" as many call it today has led many astray. The focus on more and more and more for the sake of having more and looking better than others in the guise of being blessed has led many astray and they have fallen off from the faith.

Money in itself is just a tool but when we love it then it becomes the root of all evil (1Timothy 6:10)

Remember the rich young ruler who came to Jesus?

Matthew 19:21-22
21 Jesus said to him, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”
22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.

Matthew 6:24 NKJV
24 “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and [a]mammon.

With all the materialism we see today and the flashy kind of lifestyle many desire to be living, truly what Paul wrote to Timothy about has become the reality we live in today.

Reflect on this today and you will surely be keen to know when you are losing on what matters the most.
