We love a full circle moment and we also love an analogy…
The extent of Allah’s sufficiency is entirely incomprehensible, a wonderful reminder as we head into the last week of Ramadan. Let’s actively increase the amount for which we’re asking and pleading, He swt is limitless and He loves to give.

In rays of sun glistening upon endless expanses of water.
Resplendent forces of creation.
The hum of silence, concealing a whole host of unseens.
Solitude yet never really alone.
In being drawn to souls, the ones who have stood at our shoulders before.
But the magnetism is not of this world.
An unassuming seed of resolve when resolve seemed all but lost.
Growing into a long awaited turning of tides.
And when forehead finally greets ground, yearning for rest.
We remember Him, the Most Glorified, the Most High.

Our storyteller here retells the steps she took to rebuild her relationship with Allah swt. In a later part she recounts feeling overwhelmed with emotion when she realises He has responded to her most troubling worries and fears. Sometimes it is difficult to see beyond our current hardships. But through Asma’s story, we hear how the plans of the Most High are truly what is best for us - we just need to place our full trust in Him.

For me, moving into yet another exam filled Ramadan is disheartening especially when considering all the time which could be spent reading Qur’an or listening to an Islamic podcast. But Uncle Asad’s stories were a reminder of how important it is to keep your Islamic values at the forefront of anything you do, because what is meant to be has already been written by Allah swt. So even though worrying about exams is not part of my ideal Ramadan, whatever I do is for the sake of Allah swt and I trust He has planned this to be beneficial for me.

Allah SWT mentions in Surah Luqman, Verse 27: "And if whatever trees upon the earth were pens and the sea [was ink], replenished thereafter by seven [more] seas, the words of Allah would not be exhausted. Indeed, Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise."
Growing up, many of us learn to be independent and take charge of how we want to live our lives. But as Muslims, we can try and create the life that we want but this can only ever be within the boundaries set for us by Allah swt. Our stories have already have been captured by the Best of Writers, and so we are guided to make choices which will benefit us in this world and the next.
In our latest episode, we hear from three individuals who have witnessed how Allah swt cares for us through good and difficult times. Their stories are a reminder to trust what Our Creator has written for us and know that only by placing our trust in Him, will we be able to move beyond the uncertainties we experience.

Our recent episode is all about what home means to our storytellers. Jenna takes us through her trip to Baghdad and how this visit to her family home brought her closer to her roots whilst still feeling slightly rootless.
Feeling like a “tourist in your own homeland” is common amongst so many of us, especially when you’re brought up away from your ancestral home. But like Jenna, our sense of belonging is defined by the memories we‘ve formed and the communities we are a part of.
