Color & Learn about... AHUPUA'A! In collaboration with a teacher at Wilcox Elementary Kaua'i, we present two downloadable pages of geography and social studies lesson plans. 🌏 This teacher wanted to present water uses in an Ahupua'a from early Hawai'i in a fun, educational format! Mahalo nui loa to everyone involved 🌺

These pages meet the requirements of Fourth Grade lesson content standards, including: Land Usage, Human Modification, and Natural Resources. Link in bio.

We love seeing our pages in action! 🐓🖍 This month we are collaborating with a fourth grade teacher on Kaua'i to bring coloring opportunities to the classroom.

These pages from Da BIG Hawaiian Coloring Book were important to share because students could directly relate with the information based on classroom activities. Students built miniature Wa'a, learned about traditional weapons, and the Nene and Monk Seal are endemic to the island.

It's been a busy month! 🐓 One thing that always amazes me is how much time it takes to run a small business. With this new product, I chose to hand-make the packaging for my postcard packs to keep costs down. The process works, but of course it always takes longer than you expect!

Color & Learn about… VOYAGING! When Polynesians first discovered the Hawaiian Islands around 400 C.E., they landed on the Na Pali coast. Today these steep cliffs are only accessible by boat or the Kalalau Trail.

Aloha friends! 🐓 A few things have changed in the second print of Da BIG Hawaiian Coloring Book. We want to be totally transparent, so here it goes…

1. We found a few spelling mistakes. These are corrected in the second print, and we apologize for any confusion on the activity pages. Please let us know if you find any new mistakes which will be corrected in future prints!

2. The paper is FSC Certified. This means that our books use paper that originates in responsibly managed forests. For more information visit us.fsc.org.

3. The book is ¼ inch smaller. Why? Now the books can fit perfectly in a USPS flat rate box, which reduces the cost of shipping for our small business retail partners.

4. Made in America. To be as eco-responsible as possible, we have chosen to print closer to home. This reduces our carbon footprint and aligns with our mission statement.

5. There is no perforation. This change we are very sad about. Our goal has always been to offer books at an affordable price, but we were unable to find an affordable printer with perforation capabilities. If you know one, please share!
