𝗖𝗔𝗥𝗧𝗔𝗚𝗘𝗡𝗔𝗦, 𝗩𝗜𝗡𝗖𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗜𝗔𝗡𝗦 (𝗔) 𝗖𝗔𝗣𝗦 𝗨𝗡𝗕𝗘𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗡 𝗦𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗢𝗡 𝗪𝗜𝗧𝗛 𝗧𝗜𝗧𝗟𝗘

Vincentians A completes their conquest of the Sun Rippers Basketball League Season 2 with a triumph against Budbod Sa Otso, 95-86, in the championship game.

The path to the crown was not easy for Vincentians A, as Budbod Sa Otso gave the top-seeded Vincentians a serious run for their money, a challenge that pushed them to their limits.

Vincentians A had a horrible start, opening the path for BSO to dig them a 16-point hole by the end of the 1st quarter, 14-30.

However, their fortunes changed once they employed a full-court press against the BSO offense that was so effective it resulted in a 32-point reversal for Vincentians A. They outscored BSO 44-12 in the 2nd quarter, 58-42.

BSO defensive ace Jaylord Arnejo and Vincentians stalwart Cjhey Jimenez were both ejected early in the 3rd, spurring both teams to fight harder, leading to sloppier basketball, 76-65.

A fired up Vincentians side held off Budbod Sa Otso's multiple attempts of staging a comeback in the final frame, by answering BSO's baskets with their own. At the end, Vincentians' succeeded at keeping them at bay, 95-86.

Stephen Cartagenas' tireless grit and tenacious work inside the paint resulted in 10 points, 16 rebounds, 2 steals, 2 shot blocks, and the Finals Most Valuable Player award. Leo Dacara also provided his in-game leadership, and his well-rounded 8p/6r/5a/3s/1b line.

Floor general Daboy David was a rare source of calmness on the ball for the losing side, with his 10 points, 10 rebounds, 8 assists, 3 steals, and 1 block. His play was pivotal for the back to back finalists.

Resilient Budbod Sa Otso fought off wave after wave of Alliance EZ Jersey Balleros rallies to clinch their second successive Sun Rippers Ballers League finals appearance, 89-83.

Despite leading most of the game, Budbod Sa Otso had to take full advantage of Alliance's struggles to stay focused on the game in the 4th to deal the finishing blow on their once unbeaten foes.

Alliance had no answers for BSO's Jaylord Arnejo, whose length and defensive instincts inside thoroughly stopped most attempts to establish themselves in the paint. The big man scored 19 points, snagged 19 boards, erased 7 shots, and had a ridiculous 7 steals.

Explosive guard JP Obsiana propped Alliance up again and again, tallying 30 points, 2 boards, 2 assists, and 4 steals. However, the absence of mythical team member Cerera proved fatal.

Top-seeded Vincentians A will take their unbeaten run to the final after dispatching a spirited Cabilders' side, 94-87, in the second semifinal matchup.

Vincentians A once again proved to be a tough nut to crack, as they remained in control of the game even after Cabilders' three-point shooting rained down on them in the fourth quarter. Their man advantage proved pivotal as the undermanned Cabilders' ran out of gas later on.

Battering ram Cjhey Jimenez stood out for the finals-bound Vincentians A, pounding his way to 20 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and a steal. Four more Vincentians topped double figures.

For Cabilders, big man duo Sheim Ferrer and Jason Bernal combined for 49 points, and 16 boards in the losing effort.

Alliance's lethality from the foul line the difference in their tense encounter against a dogged Rippers side, 114-109.

A surprisingly strong Rippers starting lineup welcomed the top-seeded Balleros, generating a decent lead, up until the Alliance bench corps came to wreak havoc and reverse the trend.

Alliance played their best basketball in the second half, increasing their lead with their aggressiveness, and their penchant for making foul shots. Late on in the fourth though, Rippers took their last stand, making three-ball after three-ball, to no avail.

JP Obsiana took over the scoring and playmaking load for Alliance during several stretches of the match, amassing 32 points, 10 assists, 4 rebounds, 2 steals, and a deserved Player of the Game honors.

The stellar Vincentians A lineup attacked their lower seeded foes from the tip, building up a massive lead that was never in any danger for the rest of the game, reaching its highest of 49 points at the end of 3.

Mythical teamer Joshua Dollente once again was on a class of his own for Vincentians A, leading the line with his 32 markers, 5 boards, 6 dimes, and 5 steals.

Vincentians A remain unbeaten as they gear up for a semis matchup against Cabilders.
