my morning routine consist of waking up, getting cozy in my chair and having time with Jesus before ever starting my day. I absolutely love my JESUS CALLING BOOK. I have used it for years & love to write down special memories on the day they happen so the next year I can reflect back on the special times.
another great thing I love about my Jesus calling book is every year, the passage and verses of the day mean something different to me, depending on what’s going on in my life at the time. I hope that this devotion can bless someone as much as it has blessed me.

"I wonder if our generation will finally break the cycle of telling moms to enjoy every second - because frankly, it’s inhumane.

We know these are the good days. We know time flies by. We know that one day we will wake up to an eerie silence with empty bedrooms, a clean laundry room and our floors won’t be covered with toys.

We know its inevitable.
You don’t need to tell us.

But you know what else is true? There will be many moments, days, weeks and months where time seemingly stands still.

There will be moments of frustration and anger. There will be moments where you feel helpless, exhausted, overstimulated and overwhelmed. All of which are natural *human* emotions.

& god forbid you ever have to live some sort of medical nightmare like I have recently; there’s nothing enjoyable about watching a piece of your heart and soul beating outside your chest laying in a hospital bed hooked up to wires and machines while you pray that the universe takes you instead.

We don’t have to enjoy every moment, we need to survive every moment. Sometimes that’s the best we can do.

So let’s break the cycle & instead of telling parents to enjoy it all and reminding them how fast it all goes by, let’s support them and hold space for real human emotion."

In honor of World Breastfeeding Week🫶🏼

We’re just 2 weeks shy of the 1 year mark & I’m so proud of us. I remember in the beginning thinking there was no way I could make it through..it was too painful, too exhausting, too hard.. But what I didn’t know, is how rewarding it was, how truly incredible the journey would be, and how beautiful the bond is.🤱🏼

It’s been a challenge… from sleepless nights, teething and mastitis to discovering he had a dairy intolerance and having to completely cut dairy from my diet. That was hard for a girl who LOVES her cheese and chocolate.

But I love my little man more and I’m so grateful my body is able to provide what he needs to grow and thrive in this world! 🤍

I always said if I made it to a year, I’d quit. But now that we can see the “finish line”, I don’t think the end is is sight anymore! Here’s to continuing our journey as long as he needs, or my body allows. 🤍

Bubba was only 1.5 months when daddy left for deployment. He was too little to remember anything but spent a lot of time on FaceTime smiling at his dad! He was almost 9 months when he finally came home. I was excited to see what his reaction would be to seeing him in person. He’s in the stranger danger phase right now and he’s definitely a momma’s boy, so I had no clue what to expect. This moment was so special. He’s taking some time adjusting of course, but we’re all incredibly happy to be together as a family again🤍
