We live in a society where one wrong action, or even the claim of such action, can destroy your life. People now assume one is guilty before they are proven to be so. No longer is due process allowed to be faithfully executed-for proof look at the stories of Brett Kavanaugh, Nick Sandmann, Kyle Rittenhouse, Donald Trump, or even Joe Biden. We here at Seriously Political are not saying we think Govenor Cuomo is innocent or guilty, however, we believe that even if he acted inappropriately, he must be given due process in this situation. Let us summarize this bill. Any type of gun except for muskets and revolvers are illegal. Half of what is in this bill makes no sense. For example one of the definitions of a military style weapon is based off where the gun grip is placed. Another definition is any semiautomatic pistol (aka-any modern pistol) that accepts a detachable magazine (again-literally every pistol out there) and has two of

“(i) an ammunition magazine that attaches to the pistol outside of the pistol grip;
“(ii) a threaded barrel capable of accepting a barrel extender, flash suppressor, forward handgrip, or silencer;
“(iii) a shroud that is attached to, or partially or completely encircles, the barrel and that permits the shooter to hold the firearm with the nontrigger hand without being burned;
“(iv) a manufactured weight of 50 ounces or more when the pistol is unloaded; and
“(v) a semiautomatic version of an automatic firearm.

Again, none of these restrictions make sense. Why does it matter how heavy the gun is. Why does it matter if there is a protective shroud on the gun. This does not even include the requirments to use our 2nd ammendment rights and the restrictions placed on gun owners. This is a direct assult on the 2nd ammendment which allows people to protect ourselves from dangerous criminals and, most importantly, the government itself.
