As we continue to rally and support our Haitian family recovering from the recent earthquake and now being abused at the Texas border, we must not forget to attend to our mental and spiritual needs. Too often Haitian stories are overlooked and erased. The Haitian American Alliance and the Society of Haitian Neuroscientists are partnering to host Sawubona Healing Circles for Haitian communities. These will be healing spaces hosted by trained mental health professionals/leaders for Haitian people to share their stories and be seen by one another. Leaders that speak English and Haitian Creole will be present.
