Rocking
Swaying
Creaking
Shifting weight
It's amazing all the racket you can make with your podcast chair.
😳🤭
Instead, choose a solid chair. Sit still with your feet planted, and resist the urge to shuffle papers or make unnecessary noise.
(Yep. The chair matters!)
What we do to create amazing audio 🤪🤪
But seriously tho - warming up your voice before recording and doing a few facial stretches can do wonders for your performance!
(DM us for a few excercises we love!)
With summer coming up, you'll want to make plans to have some fun... but also keep your podcast engagement up!
👉🏻 Batch record episodes in advance
👉🏻 Replay fan favorites (poll if you're not sure which to re-air!)
👉🏻 Repurpose old content (new outros/intros/fresh takes)
👉🏻 Treat yourself to a good travel mic that hooks into your phone (DM for a link to my fav attachment!)
Y'all - being a podcaster doesn't mean summer fun has to be on pause! 😎
(p.s. And yes – in case you're wondering where this is – when you arrive in NOLA, it's a whole vibe, and I love it!😍)

Believe it or not, recording 4-5 seconds of NOTHING in an empty room can help you create a noise profile.
With this sample, your editing software can learn what needs to be removed from the rest of your audio, making your editing process that much smoother!
If you need help knowing how to set this up with your particular programs - contact us!
A quick free checkup from your podcast coach:😉
Do you regularly...
1️⃣ Place your microphone at the same height as your mouth?
2️⃣ Keep your mouth at the same distance from the mic?
3️⃣ Use a pop filter?
Being intentional about your recording posture is a major game-changer!
Why do many listeners give up on your show?
🚫 Bad audio quality!
Whether it's dogs barking, background noise, or using the wrong mic, etc., it all makes a difference in the listener experience.

We always take advice from EVERYONE else...
but have you ever taken a moment to listen to your OWN show and jot down a few positive notes on:
- I like how I did that.
- That transition really worked.
- Ooh. The sound quality was great there.
- I loved this moment.
Trust your instincts.💛
Cheer yourself on.💛
You got this, y'all.💛
(p.s. Can't stand listening to your own voice and need a coach to listen FOR you and tell you the good, bad, and ugly? Let's talk!)
It's okay to talk to yourself.😜
In fact – we recommend it!
As podcasters, use verbal cues when recording to save yourself (and your editor) hours of work!
"Oops. Let me restart." [pause and breathe]
"Edit that out."
"I'm going to try that again."

IYKYK. 😅 Dehydration is a SERIOUS problem for podcasters. (We're not just being dramatic!) 🤣🤣
PRO TIP: 🚰 Hydration is the key to having excellent voice quality for podcast recording! Before you sit down to record, drink at least eight ounces of water. This will settle your stomach, help you focus, and improve your voice quality.
That said, you should also avoid drinking coffee, alcohol, and other beverages that dehydrate you on the day of recording. (Or even the night before if you can resist!)
See... it's the little things that make a BIG difference, right?
