FORCES in Nairobi have arrested a local legislator David Pkosing, Pokot South MP, for leading bandtry activities in North Eastern region of the country.
Pkosing was arrested by DCI officers and taken to DCI Headquarters. He is the owner of the notorious white Chopper that intelligence sources claimed was being used to aid Bandits in movement of fi****ms and ammunition.
Last week, the white chopper airlifted 7 Pokot men who were accused of banditry attacks after being released from Kitale Law Court.
The suspects were arrested few days earlier in Lokichar and arraigned in Kitale Law court.
Pkosing led leaders from West Pokot County in protesting the arrests, calling for their release.

Sad news has emerged from Mozambique, as a pastor has passed away after a 40-day fast. Francisco Barajah, who was attempting to emulate Jesus Christ by fasting for the same length of time as described in the Bible, died on Wednesday.
The 40-day fast is a well-known story from the Bible, where Jesus fasted in the wilderness for 40 days and nights before beginning his ministry. Barajah was said to have undertaken this challenge to strengthen his faith and connect with his spirituality.

BREAKING NEWS: SUSPECTED AL-SHABAAB ATTACK
A convoy of KeNHA Engineers in 3 vehicles who were on routine assessment of the LAPSSET Road were attacked by Suspected Al-shabaab elements who had placed an IED on the Old Lapsset Road which exploded completely destroying the first vehicle a Toyota Hilux Double Cabin KBV 502S.
The other vehicles turned back to safety at Hailey camp. The team was travelling from Garissa to Hailey Chinese Camp then to Bura East.
Three bodies have been retrieved and it is believed that the 4th person's body was completely destroyed in the vehicle.

A group Ethiopians having a raw meat lunch.
This popular dish among the Ethiopians is called 'Tere siga'. The meat mostly comes from a cow and served with a powdered hot spice blend called mitmita, a hot dipping sauce called awaze, and senafich (mustard sauce).
A famous theory behind Ethiopians taste for raw meat comes from the Abyssinian-Adal war in 1600.
It is believed that Ethiopians began to eat this food during the battle. It was a war between Ethiopians and Somalians.
It is believed that every time the Ethiopian army prepared meat, the enemy could easily fish them out and kill them in their sleep. They later came to the realization that the attackers were using the fire that they mostly build to roast or cook the meat to locate them.
To avoid being attacked in such a manner again, they chose to consume their meats raw rather than roasting or cooking them.
This was later incorporated into Ethiopian culture and developed into a popular delicacy in honor of the occasion.

Rwandan President Threatens to Evict Congolese Refugees
Rwandan President Paul Kagame threatened to evict thousands of Congolese refugees living in Rwanda if the international community continues to blame his country for the conflict in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Speaking Monday from the capital Kigali after a swearing-in ceremony for Rwanda's new Senate president, Francois Xavier Kalinda, Kagame said, "We cannot keep being host to refugees for which we are later on held accountable in some way or even abused about — refugees as a result of ethnic cleansing based in another country — and we must be a dumping ground of those people who are being deprived of their rights."
Kagame switched from the national Kinyarwanda language to English to deliver his message, as he often does when he wants to talk about the international community.
"We are really prepared to be blamed, but we will be blamed for doing what we must do," Kagame said in an address punctuated by clapping and applause from members of the Rwandan Parliament.
The Congolese government and a recent U.N. report blame Rwanda for supporting the M23 mostly Tutsi rebel movement fighting in the east of the country against the Congo government. Rwanda has consistently denied the accusations, saying it is Congo's internal issue.
The M23 rebel movement, which claims to fight against persecution of Congolese of Tutsi origin, seems to have fueled even more hatred against them from other ethnic groups in several parts of Congo. For weeks, thousands have been fleeing into Rwanda and Uganda, including hundreds who crossed into Rwanda last week.
"We fled from persecution, they are killing us and our children," one of the refugees told VOA on arrival Sunday in the Rwandan border town of Rubavu. "I came with nothing, I do not know how I made it here."
According to the Rwandan Ministry of Emergency Management, at least 60% of Rwanda's refugee population is Congolese.
Since August last year, some East African Community member countries, including Burundi and Kenya, deployed their forces in the region to help end the conflict. But progress has been slow.
M23 rebels claim to have withdrawn from some areas they had seized from the Congolese government, including Kibumba town and Rumangabo military camp in the east of the country, as a sign of goodwill in the implementation of the Nairobi and Luanda peace process. But the government accuses the rebel force of deploying in new areas. M23 denies the accusation.

An update has followed on the death of the student from Liberian Renaissance, Gentle Bryant, whose mother, Joanna Marshall shared he was missing one day before he died.
According to a report from Across Africa, the 16-year-old died in the EBK Barracks, on Christmas Day, December 25, 2022.
Gentle and his friends had reportedly gone out to celebrate Christmas when he met his sorrowful death. It is being reported by the family that a police final report uncovered that Gentle died from drowning.
However, family sources believe otherwise. Reacting to Gentle’s death one family person, Jesse Bryant, told Across Africa that Gentle was murdered and describes it as shocking.
“My son was murdered. I am surprised that the police are doing this. They are not even aware we got permits to bury my child. In the meeting they went to hung heads upon their return, we were told Gentle died of ‘suspected drowning’. I regret ever being a Liberian I regret being born here. Why will the police compromise the case when my son's arms were broken and the boy toileted in his pants before he died?”Jesse emphasized.
He added that the evidence they showed to the police suggested that Bryant’s had cuts on his head and his ear was chopped off. Jesse also said that Gentle’s tongue and eyes came out of their usual places.
Bryant’s mother, Joanna Marshall, had only celebrated her son three months ago on social media when he became a senior student.
The day that makes it three months was the same day Gentle died.
