IT IS OKAY TO NOT KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING!! 💖💖💖 As much as myself and other DJ’s will make it appear that everything is going perfectly and we know exactly what path we are taking, 90% of the time that is NOT the case! This industry is tough and it’s really not talked about enough. Previously, I put SO MUCH pressure on myself to grow quickly, get as many bookings as I could (even if I HATED them) because I wanted to be a full time DJ. I was not having a good time, but my socials looked booked and busy. After getting pretty screwed over this summer (a story for another day!), I lost most of my summer bookings (apart from Magaluf, I had the time of my life there tbf😂). I decided I’d be happier doing some temp work during the day and just stepping back for a moment. Best decision I have made in a long time. I feel so much more freedom with my DJing now, less pressure and I can go back to just enjoying the journey for a bit. Honestly, I don’t even know what music I want to play right now. I love house, I love dancehall, I love hip-hop, I JUST LOVE MUSIC!! 😭 and if other DJ’s are having this problem THAT IS OKAY! 🫶🏼 it’s YOUR journey. Step back, play what you FEEL like in that moment and see what happens. For me personally, I’m experimenting and having fun because that is what this should be about. Right now everything is the most uncertain it’s been for a while. I don’t know what I’m doing at all, but weirdly I feel so happy about it. Don’t be ashamed to pull money from wherever you need to, even if you’ve gotta do some “normal” work for a bit. It’s a journey and it’s a hustle and that’s okay. So DJ’s, take a minute, BREATHE and remember everything is going to be okay 🫶🏼 this is meant to be FUN! 🕺🏻###
