Kizomba night at Brasil's is going on an indefinite hiatus after this event, definitely for the rest of the summer. This decision was not taken lightly but it was a necessary one for business and personal reasons.

To the organizers, David, Alicia Mercado-Harvey, Ali El Sayed, Rose Lynn Guevara, thank you for inviting me to be a part of this event and for trusting me!!

Ali, from the minute I landed in Tampa to the second I left, you hosted me with so much love and care, I’m honored and humbled❤️. Introducing me to your lovely sister was so nice!! She is such a darling!!!

Rose, without you, I can’t fathom how half the things would run as smoothly as they did. You’re amazing!!!

Mestre Petchu, thank you so much for all the laughs, the food, the willingness to share your knowledge, the dances. I’ll try not to kill Angolans. lol

Tampa, you have my heart!! You stole a part of it two years ago and this time you’ve made me leave it all there!!!

Mukondo Kizomba Weekender 🇺🇸2 was an experience! There are no words to express how full and content my heart is. The event might seem small to many who are about attendance and numbers, but when it comes to love and heart for all things kizomba, semba, community, sharing, laughing, loving, and absolute joy, this event is the biggest and baddest. Ah yes, tarraxinha too!! lol

To quote a friend who attended the event for the first time - ‘loved it and I needed my faith in the community restored more than I realized.’ Those words resonated deep within my soul because it’s exactly what I didn’t realize I desperately needed as well. Lost my heart but had my faith restored. Not a bad bargain at all!!

If you want to spend a weekend basking in the sun and enjoying the essence of kizomba in its truest form, then make plans to attend the next Mukonda. You will find your heart stolen by the time the event comes to a close.

I’m trying tag everyone who was there, but if I do omit your name, please forgive my slight. It’s unintentional.

As groggy and sleep deprived as this time change nonsense makes me feel, I'm so glad that spring is right around the corner and the cold is slowly losing its hold on me!!! YAY!!! I need the sun, plain and simple!

Alas! we still have a few more weeks to go! But fret not, my good people, for I have some spectacular news for you!! I will be traveling near and far in the next couple of months to bring you music that will set your feet ablaze and leave your hearts exhilarated!! If you've heard me before, you know it's no idle promise! If you haven't, come ready! 😉
