There is a Malawian proverb that says that a quarrelsome chief does not hold a village together. The continued conflict between Hon Mary Maingi and other leaders and civil servants in Mwea is almost painful to see. The disillusionment by Mwea people with her leadership barely an year after being swept to power miraculously by party euphoria is a shock, to say the very least.

If the trend continues, and if Hon Mary Maingi and her people continue responding to public disillusionment and anger over misuse of NGCDF money, stalling of national government projects, failure to give bursaries, primitive accumulation of wealth by her close allies and so on, with contempt, diversionary tactics, blame gaming and arrogant threats, God knows what won't happen.

The tendency by Hon Mary Maingi to invoke the name of the president whenever she wants to take credit for the achievements of other leaders and to fight leaders and civil servants who outsmart her in delivering to the people of Mwea makes Mwea people feel that they are being played for fools. But, Mwea people are not fools to see that people like DP Rigathi Gachagua (whom the MP is on record asking President Ruto to replace with Gov Waiguru or herself), Senator Murango, Hon Kabinga, MIS Manager Innocent Ariemba, IWUA chairman Mr. Chege, targeted Ngurubani businessmen and so on whom the MP has made a habit to fight have only been doing what they are supposed to do to advance the well-being of Mwea people. But even if Hon Mary Maingi thinks believes Mwea people are fools, let her be reminded that, even fools don't like to be played for fools.

Continued fighting with people who are not fighting her but playing their part in the transformation of Mwea has cemented the perception, in some quarters, that Hon Mary Maingi and team has no clue what they are doing.

Yes it's true that musician Muhiko has left the music industry never to make a return; his death spikes a conversation on and about the welfare of the Music fraternity especially in the Kikuyu Nation. His is not a unique case but an invoke to a candid truth that for long have been ignored by the artists.

The hypocrisy in the industry stinks; you all can recall Murimi wa Kahalf; how he died mysteriously and the unity of the artists never played. Those that know the ordeal narrates that Murimi would be moved from hospitals to some traditional medicine men and later died at St. Francis Kasarani Hospital and only his family stood with him till the last breathe, when he rested, every artist wanted to cry, to mourn and scream sobs loudest.

When Mighty Salim died (recently); Artists mourned him for days at Homelands along Thika Road; they raised money to send a farewell to a man in a casket but they couldn't fund raise to send him for kidney transplant which he needed when he still could breathe. When Sarafina Salim narrates how Salim died, you all can tell that this man played the guitar even at his worst condition because he needed to earn enough for his family and medication; No Artists unity played up until we lost him.

Mwalimu George Wanjaro died some long while ago; there are tribulations that have always faced his family. When Wanjaro died, not much would be posted in social media for it was not as common as is today. Truth is that every other artist praises Wanjaro as a great Benga writer but his memories are never honoured , his music copyright never benefits his family 😥...

Now, back to Muhiko. The musician acting to be really shocked will not tell you that he is a member of the musicians' Sacco chaired by Sir. James; they will not tell you that even when he got sick nothing was done by the Sacco, not even an event organized to try to raise funds to send him for treatment...

BREAKING: EPRA Increases Fuel Prices

The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has released fuel prices that will take effect from October 15 to November 14.

In the latest review, Super Petrol was increased by Ksh5, from Ksh211.64 to Ksh217.36.

Diesel, on the other hand, was increased to Ksh205.47 from Ksh200.99, while Kerosene was increased to Ksh203.06 from the current Ksh202.61 per litre.

Via Mathani Wa Kaboi In the spirit of politically pretending to bury Mary Mary Maingi, MPMary Maingi, MP MP before 2027, the people of Maendeleo staged a peaceful protest carrying twigs and placards to the Mwea Constituency Offices in Ngurubani Town where the MP had arrived shortly and discreetly to wade off public interference.It is said the demonstrations were caused by a one - and - half month blackout. To conclude so is to miss the forest for the wood. The protests was a loud statement on the tendency by the MP and her office to refuse to communicate with her people. The people of Maendeleo village are not fools. They know the Constituency Office is not where transformers are found. So, if it was about getting the transformer they would have gone to KPLC Mwea Office. But since they wanted to communicate to the MP about her and her office's deficiency on availability on the ground and communication, they went to where they wanted the message delivered. Everywhere you go in Mwea Constituency the narrative in the past one year has been the same about the inaccessibility of the MP and her people.It is in this regard that the people of Maendeleo village decided that if the MP cannot go to them, they will go to her. If the MP is pretending to be politically dead as the people of Mwea suffer from insecurity in Ngurubani Town that has deteriorated in the last 8 months; a poorly and corruptly implemented Inua Jamii registration process where the elderly, disabled and vulnerable are suffering without anyone speaking for them; and villages such as Kirogo, Maendeleo, Riagicheru among others are going for months without electricity and the office of MP does not even both to give feedback on its follow up, then the people of Mwea have no option but to pretend to politically bury her by staging more protests if that is what will make the MP and her people be responsive to the needs and priorities of Mwea people

Kirinyaga Women Representative, Wakili Njeri Maina has been evacuated to Nairobi for further treatment.

Njeri Maina was earlier today attacked by goons in Kerugoya town while in the company of Baragwi Member of County Assembly David Mathenge upon which she was rushed to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention.

She is said to have sustained some head injuries and had to be shaved for doctors to evaluate the intensity of the injury.

Through a photo that was shared on social platforms, she was spotted sitting in a wheelchair with a white bandage on her shaved head.
