𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | Mark Vincent Divina and Romella Abion graced the screening as they were announced as the official candidates of the ABSECOHM Department for the upcoming Mr. and Ms. SJCC 2025 on February 21, 2025.

The two outranked the other 19 candidates who vied for the title by using their own poises and intellect to convince the board of judges.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | Steven Lhoyd Frondozo and Lhans Alena Bo were regarded as Mr. and Ms. BCAED 2025 at the concluded screening today, January 29, 2025.

Among the six candidates, three from both male and female, Bo and Frondozo stand out by convincing the jury with their wits and charms.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | Leonard F. Benitez and Khyna Charise Valenzuela were named Mr. and Ms. Marketero 2025 during the screening held today, January 29, 2025, at St. Isidore Building, San Jose Community College.

Among 20 candidates, they stood out by impressing the judges with their confidence and intelligence, particularly during the Q&A portion.

They will represent the Financial Management Department in the upcoming Mr. and Ms. SJCC 2025 pageant, which will be part of the institution's 32nd anniversary celebration.

The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) hosted a Voters’ Education Campaign at San Jose Community College (SJCC) on January 24, 2025. The event aimed to familiarize voters with the automated counting machines for the upcoming elections.

The initiative is part of COMELEC's mission to promote a smooth and transparent electoral process. By empowering voters with knowledge, COMELEC aims to minimize errors and discrepancies during the voting process.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | The On-the-Job Training Seminar for students of the College of Business Administration (CBA) was held today, January 24, 2025. The event featured a distinguished lineup of speakers who shared their expertise and insights with the attendees.

Among the speakers were Engr. Nathanael Bacong Ortiz, CEO and Owner of Natizane Online Tutorial Review, and Senior Unit Manager at Infinity Ace Summit Life Insurance Agency; Richard Hari Opeña, President of PLT College and Past President of the Rotary Club of Legazpi; Roland Cruel Bongais, a former television newscaster, DJ, and banker with extensive experience in education and management; Arnold C. Onrubia, the Former Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator (PPDC) of Albay and a licensed Environmental Planner; and Rev. Jerry L. Jadie.

San Jose Community College to Launch "College Beyond Boundaries" Program for Persons Deprived of Liberty

Malilipot, Albay – The San Jose Community College (SJCC) is set to introduce "College Beyond Boundaries," a pioneering program designed to provide higher education opportunities to persons deprived of liberty (PDL) at the Tabaco City District Jail (TCDJ).

SJCC President Atty. Randy Blanza revealed the initiative during an interview on Tingog Kan Banwaan earlier today, January 24, 2025.

In collaboration with TCDJ, Tabaco National High School (TNHS), and the Tabaco City Schools Division Office (TCSDO), "College Beyond Boundaries" aims to help PDLs continue or complete their college education. The program will utilize a blended learning approach, combining modular instruction with face-to-face classes conducted by teachers who will visit the TCDJ.

Blanza shared that the program will accommodate various groups of PDLs, including those who have completed high school, individuals who started college but wish to finish their degree, and youth offenders who graduated at TNHS under a similar initiative.

"This program is a testament to our belief that education should know no boundaries," Blanza said. "Through 'College Beyond Boundaries,' we hope to contribute to the rehabilitation of PDLs and offer them a second chance at a brighter future."

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 | The College of Education (CE) and the College of Business Administration (CBA) held an orientation today, January 20, 2025, for all 4th-year students in preparation for their upcoming Practice Teaching and On-the-Job Training (OJT) deployment.

Atty. Randy B. Blanza, the college administrator, reminded both colleges of the event, while Dr. Ma. Isabel P. Gabito, Dean of Education, ensured participation from the Education Department. Advisers from both colleges also followed up with their students to secure maximum attendance.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | A total of 13 aspirants from the LGBTQIA+ community showcased their poise and wit as they vied for official candidates during the screening for Ms. GALANG Queen 2025 on January 18, 2025, spearheaded by the SJCC Galang Organization.

The Galang Organization promotes the idea that each member of the LGBTQIA+ community has the capacity to contribute to the progress of the institution, as well as promoting equality and inclusivity among its members.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 | The first batch of San Jose Community College Admission Test (SJCC CAT) takers took the examination today, January 13, 2025, with a total of 240 students for the Financial Management course and 120 students for the Bachelor of Elementary Education.

SJCC-CAT for the academic year 2025-2026 will continue until January 17, the same scheduled date for the transferee students.
