The tallest tree in Wales had been damaged by a storm and was supposed to be cut down, but chainsaw artist Simon O'Rourke - Tree Carving found a better solution to symbolize the tree's last attempt to reach the sky.

DIANNE WANTS TO LINE
ONE OF HER FRIENDS POCKETS!
On the agenda for Wednesday’s board meeting is BUYING A BIG NEW GENERATOR FOR THE OLD TOWNSHIP HALL!!!!

She has $300,000 approved to waste on the old building that they have discussed DEMOLISHING but she wants additional money.
I have spoken about this numerous times. She won’t even provide alarms on that old building at a nominal cost, yet she is determined to spend an amount in excess of $20,000.
No burglar alarm
No smoke or fire alarm
No water leak alarm
No heat off alarm
All common in homes and all government buildings. I have spoken about this deficiency for over a year, no response no action. These alarm notifications can be installed at a minimal cost. The basement contains many boxes of required election and township documents.
The large oversized generator installed in the "new township hall " was purchased a few years ago with a silly explanation that if the residents had an expansive power failure masses of people would go there to plug in.

Before the citizens of Rose Twp. allow the Supervisor to spend $350,000. on the old Town Hall, let's see if she can finish Civic Park.

Install the playground equipment that has sat in the old town hall basement for several years. Fix the ceilings in the buildings. Paint fences, and much more clean up is needed. This project has sat unfinished for years. Give her a bunch of money to pass out to attorneys or architects is as far as most things go with nothing to show for the money. I want to see results first.

Dan Johnson's post

Good afternoon, all,
Jim Holton Jr from the Rose Township Planning Commission has resigned his position on the board. They are looking for a replacement.
At last night’s meeting, I asked the planning commission board to use the same steps as the NOCFA board did when they were looking for a new “Citizen at Large”.
1. Advertise the open position in the Tri-County Times, on the Rose Township website and page.
2. Explain what the responsibilities are and if it is a paid position.
3. Ask for resumes.
4. Ask the top 5 candidates to come in to the public meeting to talk about themselves and answer questions.
5. By silent ballot have the board vote on the replacement.

Mike Brooks (the chairperson) informed me that they don’t pick the replacement. The Rose Twp board of trustees does (Dianne, Paul, Debbie, Glen and Pat).
cro·ny·ism
the appointment of friends and associates to positions of authority, without proper regard to their qualifications.
At the July Board of Trustees meeting Dianne presented the board with just 1 resume to fill a “Board of Review member” position (the resume came from Jim Holton Sr), this is a paid position, the public was not notified of the job opening. Mr. Holton Sr was appointed, being as his was the only resume.
Responsibilities of a planning commission member are defined as the “sphere or extent of activities.” In each jurisdiction, the planning commission is charged with three primary responsibilities, within the context of long-range, comprehensive planning.
• The planning commission works with the community to craft a comprehensive plan that defines a vision for how the place will look and function in the future.
• The planning commission executes the plan by creating and applying appropriate implementation tools.
• The planning commission implements visions for economic growth and resource protection.
These tasks are not easy. They require the planning commission to grapple with different viewpoints and to, above all, represent the public interest. However, these responsibilities are broad and empowers the planning commission to engage in a variety of activities to achieve the vision. For example, planning commissions have the ability to initiate reports on specific issues, hold workshops on the plan for public officials, and craft new mechanisms to achieve the goals of the plan.
The planning commission has a basic decision to make in carrying out its responsibilities – it can choose to operate in either a proactive or reactive mode. In the reactive mode, the planning commission addresses items as needed; in this way, the planning commission is fulfilling its legal responsibilities. Working proactively, the planning commission recognizes and seizes opportunities to affect growth and development consistent with the comprehensive plan. A planning commission working proactively more often fulfills its legal responsibilities as well as its mission.
In addition to the role of the planning commission as an entity, planning commission members should be aware of their individual responsibility. In order to be an effective member of a planning commission, each member should become familiar with the jurisdiction’s plans and ordinances, as well as applicable Michigan law. Similarly, members should be familiar with the details on each matter that comes before the planning commission.
I encourage ANYONE who is interested in this position to submit a letter of interest or resume to ALL of the following township officers;
Dianne Scheib-Snider: [email protected]
Debbie Miller: [email protected]
Paul Gambka: [email protected]
Glen Noble: [email protected]
Patricia Walls: [email protected]
Don’t let Dianne fill this position with another one of her co-conspirators

I am late saying Thank You's to my Neighbor, Josh, NOCFA, Friend Julius and Neighbor Helen.

That storm, Monday, hit my house hard, I was there watching the tree limb smash into the house and turned off the breaker to the furnace. I was just getting my act together when I started to smell gas. At the same time, I started hearing my phone ring and someone banging on the door. Josh was checking out his house when he smelled the gas coming from mine, called Consumers, who told him to call the fire dept., which he did and I think they must have showed up in 3minutes or less. They shut off my power until they could ventilate the house. Good nights work guys. Julius had Phone #'s for me right away. The tree was removed the next morning by Big Guy's, excellent cleanup also, which allowed the Roofer, TTHP to temp cover it right away and the Kotz HVAC rep to show up in the morning to see what it needed. (new replacement AC/Heat combo). State Farm Ins, Mark Carney office has been great, claims are all started, contractors have submitted quotes and everything has gone very smoothly, Helen has offered me showers until my gas is back on. THANKS TO EVERYONE

So let me get this straight. It takes between 21 to 35 days for a Russian oil tanker to get to US ports to be offloaded.

It takes between 35 and 60 days for a tanker from the Middle East to make the same trek.

It takes about 10 hours to load the tanker and up to 24 hours to unload. If it has to wait in port to get to an unloading dock, it can take up to 3 days.

The average tanker burns 2,625 gallons of diesel fuel per hour. 22.38 pounds of CO2 are created from burning 1 gallon of diesel fuel.

So, in one hour, a tanker ship hauling oil to a refinery in the US creates 58,757.5 pounds of CO2 per hour. Averaging the travel time of the tankers, that's 27.67 million tons of CO2 per trip.

In comparison, your car creates between 6 and 9 tons per year.

Without going into all the equations of how many tankers come to the US per year, let alone our exports, will someone please explain to me how drilling our own oil and moving it through pipelines, along with importing oil from Canada via pipeline will not be more environmentally "green" for the world.

Please explain to me why buying oil from another country is good for the environment??

Or better yet how buying oil from another country is better than pumping our own oil??

There’s nothing green about this other than these elites are lining their pockets with green.

Well, yes.

Oniscidae; You may have found them under a brick or a damp object. You may have felt disgusted and wondered why they exist in nature.
Well, let me tell you, these animals oniscidae, better known as cochineal, are a subgroup of isopod crustaceans whose function is to remove harmful heavy metals to the earth such as mercury, cadmium and lead. They contribute to the cleansing of the soil and groundwater and reaffirm the wisdom of nature.
Do not damage them or spray pesticides!

PLEASE READ...

Please do not hurt me or my mom.
We just temporarily moved to the neighborhood so we could be safe.”
If you have suddenly seen a fox in the yard near your home, there is a good reason for this.
It is denning season. Between the end of March and early April, a mother fox will give birth to between 4 and 5 kits (a baby fox is called a kit).
A coyote will often find a fox den, dig out the babies, and kill them.
A mother fox knows this and will frequently choose a den site close to people, away from where coyotes generally go.
A fox will often den under a porch, shed, garage, barn, or side of a hill, trying to keep her little family safe.
Please offer them a short-term rental because this is not a permanent situation.
If you are lucky enough to see how beautiful an adult fox is, or witness the kits playing (at a distance of course), you will be glad you did!
It is not uncommon for Red Foxes to change dens several times during the season, so you may not see them for long.
Kits are slow to develop and will not leave the den until they are about a month old. Foxes do not live in a den year-round, only when a mother has babies.
During the summer as the kits grow older, you will see less and less of them, and by September everyone will have packed up and moved on. Please do not call a service to “relocate them”, they will often be killed.
If you see a fox during the day, it does not mean she is rabid. A mother fox works tirelessly to feed her kits and will often be out during daylight hours foraging for food.
Foxes are omnivores, generally feeding on berries, grasses, and small rodents. They are solitary and prefer to be left alone.
They do not want to hunt and eat your children, mate with your dog, or kill your cat.
A fox just wants a place to raise her family safely, please allow her to do that.
