Someone recently asked me about how I got into nature connection and personal development, and how it links to my course, the Life Compass Quest.

It got me thinking about my own transformative journey—a journey which started with painful longing and disconnection from myself, but led me to find true meaning and belonging.

Years ago, I hit a crisis point.

Despite my efforts as a young idealistic social worker, I felt like my work was just paying lip service to a world that needed radical change.

I became disillusioned, unhappy, confused, and out of place.

The life I had built wasn’t bringing me the fulfillment I craved or seeming to make any difference to the world I saw around me.

I knew I had more to give.

I knew there was something deeper and more impactful within me.

This pushed me to embark on a long journey of exploration and deep healing. I stepped out of my comfort zone, seeking something more proactive.

Through various life initiations and rites of passage, I discovered the profound importance of connection and belonging.

Nature became my sanctuary.

In the stillness of the woods, by flowing rivers, and under the vast sky, I found peace and a sense of belonging.

This deep connection with the natural world became my guide and healer. I was inspired and held in this by powerful teachers connected to ancient traditions and deep wisdom.

It was here that I began to peel back the layers of my being, finding clarity and purpose.

The Life Compass Quest is the culmination of this journey.

In all cultures across the globe, humans have had a deep and powerful relationship to fire. We relied on it for warmth, light and energy, and in times gone by it would have been at the heart of the community. More than this, it has been revered as a transformational force with a life and spirit of its own. These days, we might enjoy the sun, share a campfire occasionally, or (if we’re lucky!) have a log burner in our living room, but we no longer have that integral relationship and connection to this magical element.

The Questing With Fire programme is designed to reintroduce us to the transformational force and elemental magic of fire. Through a carefully planned process following the beautiful nature connection model of the Eight Shields (read more about this below), we will take questers on a journey to discover their own hearts, minds, bodies and spirits in deep connection to the land and the elements.

This camp was one of the most powerful experiences I’ve ever had of healing regenerative culture. I felt like my body had experienced a transformation after 6 days of deep connective inter generational fun and play. Beautiful humans living together round a fire with the land. Stories, teaching, nature, fire, deep wisdom and love.
I am so happy to be Co-facilitating one of the guilds with Looby Macnamara this summer. It would be wonderful to see some of you there.
