It’s the best of 2023 + for good reason⤵️

This episode was streamed 294% more than the average listen in 2023! 😲🙌

In this one, Kelly Maiese Coaching and I talk about how vitally important it is to become aware of the ways we talk to ourselves so we can make positive changes in our lives.

Kelly shares:
• What self-talk is, how it’s formed, and how it can change;

• The difference between the conscious and subconscious mind, how it affects our self-talk and in turn, our results;

• How the process of empowering ourselves starts with upgrading our self-talk; and

• What we can do today to take action and upgrade our self-talk to create new results.

From this conversation, you’ll find yourself tuning in and reviewing the repeating thoughts that are coming to you every day.

Once you notice them, you can determine if they are helpful and decide what thoughts you want to create.

From gifting and baking to hosting, creating magical memories and making sure everyone matches, there are a lot of additional expectations that we place on our shoulders at this time of year.

In this episode, I’m looking at:

🔴Where our expectations come from (vs. the reality);

🔴The signs that you’ve put too much on your plate; and

It started as a gentle nudge…

Honestly, a few little pushes from my intuition to start a podcast in 2021.

Of course, I knew absolutely nothing about podcasting. I asked my circle and received a few pointers and I did it messy … like really messy.

In fact, I began by reading a fully written short story wearing my corded ear buds with connected mic … but I did it. If you’ve listened to early episodes, you know ;)

At first, I had about 8 listeners, but I kept going. I interviewed people in my networks and I emailed guests who I never thought I’d get a chance to speak to - but low and behold I did.

And now I’m so humbled to receive messages from people and PR firms with pitches to be on my podcast. And seeing the growth I’ve experienced this year in my is really just icing on the cake.

The truth is that my story is not unique. My experience with burnout; my journey as a mother, a spouse, a colleague, an entrepreneur, a woman; or my struggles within.

But that’s always been the point.

When I set out to “share insights, actionable tools and mindset philosophies to help you enjoy the juggle of work, family and everything in between with less stress and more ease, joy and fun” I couldn’t have imagined the incredible people I would speak with, the amazing tools I’d learn, or the beautiful listeners I’d have the honour of sharing episodes with.

So I say, do the thing. Do it messy. Do it scared. Do it in your bedroom closet when your kid is napping. Honestly just start and see what happens. I promise you, you’ll never regret trying.

If you’ve listened to The Juggle is Real Podcast, I thank you from my bottom of my heart. I hope you’ve lessened your load and learned something that has helped you make your days a little lighter.

And what kind of podcasters would I be if I didn’t mention to SUBSCRIBE, RATE + WRITE ME A REVIEW!

You’ll never know how much it has touched my heart to see these notes and receive your love.

Sending all my love ♥️

We are a month out so I ask: who do you want to BE when you wake up on Christmas morning?

If you’re like me, you’ve likely been thinking about what gifts you’ll be buying, where you’ll be having family dinners, how you’ll be decorating, who’s going to wear what, and all holiday hustle and bustle.

But have you thought about how you’re going to make the moments magical for everyone else and still do all the things you normally accomplish day in and day out?

It took me a few years of feeling like I ran through a wall Koolaid Man style after the holidays were over to realize that I had been doing too much and had placed impossible expectations for myself.

And it wasn’t until I worked my way backwards that I figured out how the path to holiday burnout was filled with misplaced intentions, spreading myself too thin, and not knowing how to say no.

This caused me to be less patient with my kids and so much more tired than I wanted to be around the festive season.

If you’re wondering how you can truly be the cheerful, calm, and present parent you wish to be for the holidays I invite you to check out the latest episode of The Juggle is Real Podcast.

In under 30 mins, I will help you set your intentions for the holiday season and then look at what you can realistically accomplish in the next month to decide how to become the person you wish to be come Christmas.

I also share perspectives and advice to help you feel better about saying ‘no’ now to make room for what matters most to you.

Listen and subscribe wherever you get your podcasts. Or comment “75” and I’ll send it to you as a DM.

Sending lots of love ♥️

You may be seeing a lot of messaging around “just say no this No-vember” and while the idea behind it sounds great, it’s not as easy as it sounds for a busy person with a lot of responsibilities and a long to-do list.

In this episode, I share a helpful exercise from past workshops that will allow you to review what’s currently on your plate and move into action to determine what can be paused, lessened or removed to create more space for the additional holiday items (and self-care).

Starting with a short guided meditation, I will help you set your intentions for the holiday season and then look at what you accomplish in a week to decide how to become the person you wish to be come Christmas.

I also share perspectives and advice to help you feel better about saying ‘no’ during November and onwards.

Could you be suffering from hurry sickness? 😵‍💫⤵️

Cardiologists Meyer Friedman and R.H. Rosenman coined the term “hurry sickness” and found that it may lead to stress-related heart issues.

Not only that, when you’re chronically in a hurry, it can mentally + physically affect your health.

In episode 74 of The Juggle is Real Podcast, I take a closer look at hurry sickness: what it is and how we can put a stop to it in our daily lives by incorporating slow living, in small pockets.

Using action-based, acceptance-based and emotional-based strategies I share how we can put a stop to this perpetual state of hurriedness now.

Comment “74” and we’ll send you the link to listen and be sure to subscribe for new episodes.

Do you find yourself in a constant state of rushing from one task to another; multi-tasking so much you forget some of the tasks you're in the midst of; getting irritable when there are minor delays; and feeling perpetually "behind"?

If this frenzied state of always being "on the go" rings a bell, you may be suffering from hurry sickness.

In this episode, I’m sharing insights and findings on what has been coined "hurry sickness" and how we can put an end to it in our own lives.

Included are three strategy buckets to remove hurry sickness, including: action-oriented, acceptance-oriented, and emotional-oriented strategies.

It also includes hands-on practices that have been helpful in reducing chronic stress and hurry sickness in my life to allow for more ease, joy and calm every day.

These are the years, at least that’s what they tell us.

The times we’ll look back on and miss dearly.

The moments we’ll wish we could turn back to.

But these years are the hardest, too.

The times that you’re rushing everyone around and getting everyone to the places they need to be, not knowing if you’re coming or going some days.

The moments of meltdowns, the endless piles of laundry and the dishes that don’t seem to do themselves.

But here we are, in the midst of it. All doing our best and trying to take it in while striving to cross off all the items on our to-so lists.

Because even on the challenging days, even in the most exhausting moments we somehow know we’ll wish it back.

Wherever you are in your family journey, I hope you’re giving yourself some grace and remembering that you’re doing, have done, and will keep doing an amazing job, with what you have and can give.

Sending you lots of love 🖤

In this solo episode, I emphasize the importance of NOT pushing harder when you’re simply not up to it.

Going over 3 things we can remember, I share insights on how we can prioritize our wellbeing by:

1. Putting the blinders on;

2. Asking for support;

3. Determining the type of reset that will best serve us.

Also included are 7 types of rest as identified by Dr. Saundra Dalton-Smith and 4 types of burnout to be aware of.

I read this and really loved it👇

“Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.”             – Melody Beattie

When we sit down to dinner on Thanksgiving, we go around the table sharing what we are grateful for and it’s always a struggle to get mine out.

And I guess I’ll say I’m most grateful to feel so much gratitude that I’m overcome with emotion and can barely get the words out.

One thing is certain: these three top my very long list 🧡

Wishing you love, peace, ease + all the gratitude too 💛

With recent episodes looking at the ways we can find success on our own terms, this solo chat dives into the topic of creating success with ease.

In this episode, I’m shining a light on what most of us are striving for in life; that is to be happy and to be successful.

With insights from the book Effortless Success by Michael Neill, I take a look at:

- A reading of and response to the I received that says when we remove hustle from culture we are left with those who do not work or contribute meaningfully to society;

- The 4 types of happiness outlined in the book (pleasure, satisfaction, meaning and fulfillment);

- An exercise from Michael Neill to help us feel into and define what happy success means to us.
