long caption ahead! it's not goodbye -- it's find me elsewhere for now! here is the gist.
- I don't know how long I will be inactive with posting, at least a few months!
- The store will stay open with limited inventory as usual!
- My wholesale store will be fully open with lots of inventory!
- I will be sharing art, books, and general musings on substack. If you subscribe to my substack newsletter, you will get an email with the content I post. This is a great way to engage with creative content without falling down the hole of the scroll! I promise that every post won't be a complaint, like it has been lately :') click the link in my bio to sub.
- I'll also be leaning into writing more for my other newsletter about medical history, if you like that sort of thing.
Other thoughts:
hello friends and cranky club members! this year has been another one of learning new things about this business, connecting with loved ones, lots and lots of books, and through it all, i haven't really missed posting on social media.
the thing is, as i'm sure you all know, there is a nagging to be constantly online, showing up with something new, and trying to get other people's attention on your work. it is very demotivating for me, and often makes me feel some kind of ick for competing with other content creators for your valuable time, which i do often question: is this actually worth the time of people?
i've been very transparent about my feelings with how this app has changed ever since the video feature became a thing, so i'll stop the rant here. the point is, it's not serving me the way it was when i started cranky. i don't even talk to the creators i met during the pandemic anymore, as many of them have already left the app.
funny enough, i don't even see the posts that my friends IRL make either. so what am i even looking at? just lurking, which is basically the story for most other people i've talked to about this. anyway, i am done with the ramble, thanks for reading.
i truly hope that you've had a wonderful 2023 and are looking forward to 2024. I am really excited to spend time focusing more on creative projects and less on my phone. Happy new year!

baby’s first race powered by and ✅
it was a big deal for me to run this race by myself. bigger than i feel like sharing. i appreciate the support from my friends and family, the tips from .steele15, and my biggest fan, the one who woke up at 6am and screamed prison song by system of a down with me while i drank my oatmeal on the way there. happy to be finishing 28 by doing something scary and surprising myself at how great i did. 🥳

after deciding what to include in this box, i'm finally happy to share that it comes with almost 30 little items gently packed in it! a list of everything is at the bottom of the caption!
this project has combined all of my favorite things -- hand making things, tiny items, custom keychains, book marks, stickers, candy, prompts that can be used for journaling or just setting the tone for autumn, and even includes an option for a handwritten note! 🥹
each box will be painted to order, which means that you can consider your order specially made for you.
PS... i know that i've been talking about this a lot and i don't want to apologize for it because it's genuinely just what i'm working on and i'm trying to be less self conscious about sharing again 🫣 so thank you so much for interacting with my posts, messaging me, commenting, and being so encouraging and kind. my heart lies in handmade items and i feel encouraged to keep sharing the process. 💝 big love to my cranky club especially! i can't even see who is in that broadcast channel but i could take a good guess 🥹

now presenting: THE SPOOKY BOX!! coming to my shop on september 7! I'm really excited to share this with you all. in 2021, I made these really cute valentine's day gift packs and they were a hit. i wanted to embody the feeling those gave me to create something spooky, but also something that could be used for more than just a place to hold stickers.
these will be pretty limited since every part of it is handmade (well, I order the boxes, but they're painted by me 😜). please let me know if you have any questions! i'll show more of what's inside soon!

a very important announcement: I will now only be referring to august as summerween 🫡 this challenge is meant to be super fun and you can participate as little or as much as you want to! three friends hangin out!! I made these imperfect Halloween pals a couple of weeks ago out of clay! Even though they aren’t *pristine* should I sell them?? They are one of a kind made in my little art studio (my bedroom) and looking to make new friends on somebody’s desk at work or something like that. Lmk if you’d like one of these 3 pals! 🙂🎃

taking a break from spooky boxes to talk a wee bit about some difficult things i've been doing! 🫣 in addition to the spooky boxes, i've been working hard on prepping for a market on september 9 at pilot brewing (charlotte, nc). i decided to take the plunge and start making all of my product handmade, and the courage came from wanting to make a kick ass booth as this market. i've been saying for years that i'm tired of being a sticker-only gal, and impulse buying a cricut maker 3 really helped push me even more out of my comfort zone. anyways, i've been learning how to use my new heat press and having a blast going fully back into the handmade world again. now that i'm doing it, it's obvious to me why i felt so uninspired for so long. spending all of your time uploading designs on the computer and not actually creating your product takes a lot of the fun away. it would be different if i got like 1,000 orders. then i'd be crying if i had to make it all myself lol but you get what i mean!!! have a nice day! thanks for reading!

if you haven't read verity by @colleenhoover i have 3 words for you: buckle. up. bestie. this was my first CoHo book and it did no disappoint. i found myself turning through page after page without being able to put it down. i read it in 3 sittings!! the thing i liked most about this book was that the "what the HECK" feeling didn't leave you once it was over. i quickly learned that is definitely what makes CoHo books stand out in the bookstagram community. while i'm not usually a fan of sex in books, i didn't feel like the amount of sex written into the story took away from the plot. i'm not a romance reader at all, so sometimes that can make me not want to read on. this story was too good though. i couldn't stop reading. i had to get to the bottom of what was going on. if you want to read this book, i'm adding some trigger warnings to the bottom of this review: TW: Gruesome death, attempted abortion, child abuse, abuse, murder
ok so i told you this was my favorite book i've read in a long time but i didn't tell you why yet 😊 my goodreads review was short but i feel like it says it all: This was hands down, easily, one of the best books I have ever read. It really touched my heart. I’m going through a very tough time in my personal life and this story is exactly what I needed to read. I really hope they make this one into a movie. It’s truly incredible. I’d recommend reading this more than once because I know for sure I’ll be reading it again. if you need a touching story, feel stuck in your life, or you've been struggling with your mental health, i can't recommend it enough. there are some trigger warning i'd like to include but don't want to spoil for those who like to go in completely blind.
