We were scheduled to meet with WhatsApp / Meta today to discuss API integration and future collaboration opportunities. Unfortunately, the meeting was indefinitely postponed 'due to the situation in the region.' It's deeply disheartening to see that even in the sectors of technology and media, some global companies hesitate to engage in meaningful dialogue because of geopolitical factors. As an Israeli media outlet, this reluctance is not only disappointing but also quite revealing.

Now, more than ever, we need robust access to platforms like Meta's API to ensure that we can disseminate news as efficiently and broadly as possible. The current regional situation makes the timely distribution of information crucial. Meta's decision to put our discussions on hold directly impacts our ability to serve our audience with the critical information they need, when they need it.

Due to the ongoing conflict, the heads of research universities in Israel have pushed back the start of the academic year to no earlier than December 3. This delay takes into consideration the high number of students currently serving as reservists—estimated to be about 30% of all university students.
