The Ethnographic Eater The Ethnographic Eater is a podcast based on Food, Culture, Psychology, and Food systems

29/03/2024

Hi everyone!

I wanted to come here and check in and give you the run down on whats going on with the podcast.

This podcast was originally going to be a highlight of educational information on all the historic and local food hubs in and around the Greater Youngstown area.
However, because of conflicting schedules, major life changes on my end, working part time, the immense amount of editing, and the lack of responses from people, we have decided to take a break.

The plan is to take a break, sit back and reconstruct HOW we do this podcast, learn more about quick editing, and then maybe return within a few months. We have one episode halfway edited in the wings that will be released, but until then, we will not be uploading anymore episodes for the next few months until we figure out a better way to do this. I'm so sorry for any inconvenience!

Thank you for your time, understanding and patience.

All the upcoming guest panelists have been contacted...just waiting to hear back from everyone!

Hello everyone! Sorry for the late responses, and late emails back to everyone. My phone is still currently in the repair shop, and I only have access to Facebook and my podcasting platform on a phone.
I have gotten a few emails over the last few days, and I wanted to just put this message out there. PLEASE do not take it the wrong way, because I do like to support other artists or media artists of all kinds.
BUT we DO NOT do interviews on this show just to interview people, we do not interview people that are outside of our podcast genre. We DO NOT advertise other products other than our own, and we DO NOT advertise other peoples podcasts unless we have done on them, or are partnering with them.
This is an educational podcast platform and we want to keep the off-track posts to a MINIMUM. We dont want the posts or episodes we make to get lost in Facebooks feed.
AGAIN, we are all for networking and supporting other media artists, but this is not the correct platform for it.
THANK YOU FOR STILL BEING HERE

In this episode, Christophe D and host Michela sit down to talk about Social Gastronomy, Collective Kitchens, the pillars of food research and social gastronomy, social and racial justice, Suburban and Urban food movements, how the pandemic has affected the food scene in Montreal, Canada, the affects of "big food" corporations on citizens across the world, and Christophes time as a chef, and how it influenced his new love for social work and social gastronomy. While food affects us all, we sit down to talk about all the important aspects of food and how it can impact us emotionally, mentally, and physically.

Editing the very last episode....whew!!!!

So, here's one thing I have let a LOT of my interviewees know. Outside the podcast, I'm a full time parent (alongside my spouse), and a full time Wedding DJ!

So this time of year is my BUSY season, which means sometimes editing and scheduling in new podcasting episodes, can be REALLY tricky.

The episodes are coming though, I promise 😁🎧🎤😳
