🌈A city with so much

✨(SAVE AND SHARE FOR LGBTQ+ HISTORY IN SF)

🌈 It’s and I wanted to share something fun and colorful to honor this prideful city I was born and raised in.

🌁 The LGBTQ+ community in San Francisco is one of the largest and most prominent LGBTQ+ communities in the United States, and is one of the most important in the history of American LGBT rights and activism.

🌈 The Pride Parade is this Sunday, so thought I’d share some history about it:

In 1970 gay activist groups on the West Coast of the United States held a march and 'Gay-in' in San Francisco. By 1972 this evolved into the Gay Liberation Day Parade, renamed several times since then to San Francisco Pride.

✈️ Some awesome history related to travel that you may notice at SFO:

⭐️ The Harvey Milk, Terminal 1

That terminal is named after Harvey Milk. In November 1977 Harvey Milk was elected as the first openly gay politician in the city of San Francisco; he became a member of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors.

📸 Location of where this photo was taken: 19th and Church Street. It’s the bridge that connects The Castro to Dolores Park. Right above the Muni Stop. This bridge recently got this colorful makeover.

✈️Where do I search for flight prices?

💕I’ve been asked this question pretty often these days. Here’s the answer!

⭐️My go-to when searching for flight prices is Google flights.

This is my search process:

1. Type in the dates and destination you have in mind.
2. It will then break down the prices to you. I love Google flights because it searches the web for the lowest prices.
3. I prefer non-stop direct flights, so I usually filter out by nonstop or 1 stop or fewer.
4. What I also love about Google flights (I use my laptop for this feature) is that if you click on the dates after you’ve entered a search, a calendar with the next few months comes up. It shows you what the prices are looking like for later dates.

That gives me an idea of what the prices for flights to my desired destination are.

💕All aboard the Pink Jeep!

is a MUST next time you’re in Sedona!

Had so much fun during this experience and it was definitely the highlight of Sedona. So happy we took everyone’s advice and did this experience.

⭐️ Save this post for:

Tips if you’re doing this experience in the winter, like I did:

⭐️ It’s very chilly in the winter so make sure you dress as warm as you can. That includes gloves, warm coats and jackets, scarf, beanie (and whatever it is you need to keep warm).

⭐️ You’re allowed to bring a professional camera, however, no drones allowed. Make sure you have a strap on your camera because the last thing you want is for it to fly off.

⭐️ Last and not least- have fun! Our guide’s name was Bonnie. She was awesome, knowledgeable and so passionate about her job.

💕 Have you been on a Pink Jeep Tour before?

Would you believe me if I told you this coat is a raincoat? ✨

It’s been my go-to rain coat these past few weeks. I love how it elevates your look. You’ve probably spotted me wearing it at the SF Nutcracker Ballet last weekend and also wearing it in Arizona this weekend to keep me dry from the rain.

It’s hard finding cute raincoats- especially in curvy/plus sizes.

✨This is your Monday reminder that you can handle whatever this week throws at you!✨

So, one of the many perks of living in the Bay Area is being so close to Napa Valley Wine Country!✨

Here’s an elegant winery to add to the visit list
📍Inglenook, Napa Valley

Two facts about this charming property:

⭐️ Inglenook produces estate bottled wines.

⭐️ The winery was founded in 1879 by a Finnish Sea Captain Gustave Niebaum.

Info if you want to visit:

⭐️ Guided tours of the chateau, wine caves and vineyards are offered daily. You'll also enjoy a seated tasting of wines paired with artisan cheeses in one of the private caves.

⭐️All tours are by appointment only and can be booked online on their website www.inglenook.com

⭐️ You can also head to the Bistro- a place to relax with a latté or a glass of wine and nibble small bites in a comfortable setting.

🍷🍽 Looking for a unique dinning experience in the East Bay Area?

Then you have to check out

📍 Va de Vi Bistro and Wine Bar, Walnut Creek, CA

⭐️ Va de Vi translates to “It’s all about wine!” in Spain’s Catalan language.

⭐️ Executive Chef Mike Fischetti’s menu encourages diners to explore and share a variety of eclectic, international small plate portions. Bold tastes encourage diners to explore the large international wine list, easily navigated by tasting notes.

⭐️ Many wines are offered by the glass in addition to pre-arranged flights to allow diners to compare different wines and discover new favorites.

⭐️ A warm, casual elegance defines the ambiance. Outdoors, dine under an ancient oak tree or grab a table in the picturesque lane.

🍷🍽 Swipe to get a glimpse of what I ordered when I was there. My top two recommendations here: the “Big, Bad, Cabs” Flight, the “Purple Rain” cocktail, and the Alaskan Black Cod.

“Beauty begins the moment you decide to be yourself” -Coco Chanel

I’ve been thinking long and hard about my “Why”. At the the conversation around your “why” came up and I’ve been reflecting on how to articulate my “Why”.

This is what I’ve come up with so far:

My “Why” is to encourage you to step out of your comfort zone when it comes to travel and curvy/plus size fashion.

Traveling has helped me understand the world we live in and has helped me broaden my perspective. I want everyone else to experience that. I also believe that the the travel industry needs to be diversified and include the real and different faces of travelers.

Being a Curvy/Plus Sized person is challenging. It took me over 3 decades to gain this level confidence within myself. My hopes are that it won’t take you as long as it took me 🧡.

So this is me, being unapologetically me, a curvy/plus size Latinx wandering the world in color 🌈.

✨ I find a lot of inspiration in colors, culture, florals and music.

Here are some facts about this beautiful property:

⭐️ The early 20th century Vizcaya estate includes an extensive Italian Renaissance gardens; native woodland landscape; and a historic village outbuildings compound.

⭐️ The landscape and architecture were influenced by Veneto and Tuscan Italian Renaissance models and designed in the Mediterranean Revival architecture style, with Baroque elements.

⭐️ Miami-Dade County now owns the Vizcaya property, as the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, which is open to the public.

🎟 The cost is $25 per person and tickets should be purchased online on their website.

A week ago today, we arrived in Miami for the inaugural to celebrate Latinx/Hispanic heritage month. The goal of the summit was to provide a platform for Latinx entrepreneurs, a curated guest list with industry leading panels on Travel, Media, Tech, and Startup Investing. The summit also provided entertainment, a pool party and a fashion show. Mike and Pablo - just WOW!!!Thank you for putting this all together and creating this community for all of us.

We met incredibly amazing, positive and inspiring people. We had so much fun and cannot wait for the next one so we can all hang out again!

Here’s a list of wine countries (other than Napa and Sonoma) to check out in Northern California:

🍷 Livermore - Livermore is home to more than 45 flourishing wineries and is quickly making a name for itself with award-winning wines and genuine hospitality.

🍷 Amador County - is known for their Zinfandel. Amador County is home to nearly 30 distinct varietals. It is best known for Zinfandel, Barbera, Iberian varietals and more recently for Rhone varietals.

🍷 Apple Hill - Apple Hill has a large selection wineries and hard cider distilleries to choose from. The surrounding area has been hit by the fires, but as soon as things are back up, this is a perfect area to support local 🤍.

💕 Live a colorful life! 💕

😎 Palm Springs is always a good idea! And I’m always looking for an excuse to wear pink 🥰.

Here’s what you need to know if you’re traveling to Palm Springs right now:

🌵 You’ll need a vaccination card or a negative COVID Test within 72 hours for indoor bars and restaurants.

📸 Boutique hotels don’t allow you to use a professional camera to take photos anywhere on their property. You can only snap photos and content with your cell phone. So you’ll have to put your phone into good use if you want to snap some content!

☀️The weather is unbelievably hot right now. So stay hydrated and sun protected. Water, sunblock, a sunhat, and your sunnies will be your BFF right now!

“Feels good to be lost in the right direction.”

Here’s Part 2: A few tips when traveling (these are the small ones, but make a huge difference):

🖊 Always carry a pen in your purse or carry on. It’s not fun when you have to scramble around and ask for a pen when you have to fill out customs forms.

📱 Get your phone unlocked before you travel internationally. With an unlocked phone, you’ll be able to buy local SIM cards and access cheap data as you travel.

⭐️ Always carry a small pack of baby wipes. Lol everyone laughs when I suggest this, but trust when I say they come in handy! You never know what the toilet paper situation is going to look like when you travel. Better to be well prepared.

I’ll keep sharing more tips that we wish we knew a long time ago. We’ve learned so much along the way.

Then you have to check out this one! It’s the Point Reyes Shipwreck and it’s the perfect spot to take snap awesome photos.

Where to find the Pt.Reyes Ship Wreck:

🚢 On Sir Francis Drake Blvd in Inverness, you'll find the boat behind the Inverness Store. There's parking lot right before the store where you can park and walk to the shipwreck.

Also wanted to share a (Part 1) of: Helpful tips when traveling (these are the small ones, but make a huge difference):

🗺 Download offline google maps before leaving home. You never know what your data situation will look like when you land at a new place.

💵 Try not to exchange your currency at the airport. You usually get the worst exchange rate there. Most US banks will exchange currency for you (you just have to request it with ample time).

☀️ Wear sunscreen everyday. Sunburns are no fun. You can also get sunburned with overcast weather.

📸 Take more photos of everything! Trust me, you won’t regret it when looking back at your trip.
