The Power of Two is a fitting theme in the sequel to Insomniac’s critically acclaimed Spider-Man game that first released on the PS4.

In this edit we will explore the reality of what it’s like for Peter to finally have people fighting beside him. Peter got a glimpse of what help is like in the beginning Miles Morales’ standalone game, but that was short lived as he quickly went overseas leaving Miles to defend the city on his own.

Now in Spider-Man 2, whether it’s the immense heart of Miles or the brotherly company of Harry, Peter consistently has someone to fight alongside him and the power on display when they join forces is SPECTACULAR.

That’s the purpose of this cinematic experience, not to just show the power of Peter with another hero, but also to show the power and scale of the enemies Insomniac placed in front of Peter and Co. along the way to give them an adequate challenge.

Nothing feels better than launching an enemy away with two flying kicks after dodging underneath them, only to bring them back to you with the web grabber gadget straight in to a concussion blast that sends them back the opposite way, to then web zip to them and hit them with a combo followed by a finisher. Pure magic can be made with the newly enhanced flow of the combat system in the sequel.

This weaving edit will be the first of many detailed and powerful edits Filmic will be making on Spider-Man 2. I will take you through the early sections of the games story with connected combat scenes and camera movements that keep you in tune with the action the whole way through as Peter and Miles fly across the screen.

A game of constant evolution. We’ve already touched on the initial gameplay aspects that hooked everyone the minute they picked up the controller for Mad Max in 2015.

But in this second cinematic edit, we will touch on the evolution you can experience as you get deeper in to the campaign. From wall finishers, ground finishers, and expanded weaponry, to more capable engines, tires, armor and harpoons (explosive, electric) for your vehicle all lead to allowing the player to become super creative in combat, to inflict maximum carnage.

You can launch your harpoon in to an enemies car door, rip the door off and then launch the harpoon in to the drivers ribcage and brutally yank them out and eliminate vehicles from chases just as an example of the freedom you have in combat.

In this second part, Max has seen many corners of his world but makes his way to the Infamous Gastown in search of a way in to a highly renowned race that would help get him a godly V8 engine for his car the Magnum Opus.

Ofcourse nothing comes easy in the world of Mad Max and in order to get a spot in the race Max is tasked with going in to a hellhole called the “UNDERDUNE”and retrieving something of value for the man in charge of letting Max race in the first place.

A ton of the deeper combat mechanics are shown off and really help deliver a cinematic experience that builds on the first part of this edit in every way.

A man lost to the raging sands of time.

New Teaser Trailer is live now on YouTube!

Welcome to Rage. A Mad Max edit from Filmic that is set to modernize the rough, stylistic feel of the iconic franchise and showcase the awesomeness of the Mad Max game that came out in 2015.

In an unforgiving post apocalyptic world Mad Max begins with Max being ambushed by scavengers looking to scrap his infamous Black on Black vehicle.

While they were successful, they only gave Max a reason to build a new speed demon from the ground up and a reason to rage on everyone in his path.

From spectacular vehicular combat, to heavy hitting hand to hand brawls, the Mad Max game understood what the iconic film franchise had built itself on, and how to bring that experience to gamers in a memorable way.

This edit explores the way that a film can be made from game footage and cutscenes and will feature a dark, gritty soundtrack that will resonate with Mad Max fans everywhere.

A heroic adventure that’s all about the experience.

“GENERATIONS”, a high octane, humor filled experience on Guardians of the Galaxy (PS5) (2021) is out today 9/25/2023 !

A new generation of Guardians came to the spotlight with Eidos Montreal’s rendition of Guardians of the Galaxy that released in 2021. But following the tumultuous release of Marvel’s Avengers and the controversy that surrounded it, it set the table for Guardians of the Galaxy to struggle upon release in the sales department.

But the game itself delivered on many levels, that was echoed by those who took the time to give the game a chance. While by no means a perfect game, it nailed the feeling of being the Guardians and leading them in to and through battle like few games I’ve played before.

From the unique “Huddle” mechanic to the ever changing commands of your fellow guardians, the heat of battle in this game is hectic, chaotic and full of impact and tons of variety. That’s not to mention the insanely hilarious banter between, Starlord, Gamora, Rocket and Drax that seamlessly occurs in the heat of battle and adds a liveliness to the gameplay that is fitting of a Guardians of the Galaxy game.

This cinematic theatre style edit is meant to be a preview of many aspects of the game and its early in game moments, and gameplay mechanics, to entice you to maybe give something a try you wouldn’t have otherwise.

This game has been an adventure I will never forget, that’s for sure (Its been hinted at that a sequel is in the works, so fingers crossed that Eidos Montreal takes another crack at it!)

A Teaser Trailer for an awesome new project from Filmic drops today 9/23/2023 at 10 am!

This week I worked with Eidos Montreal’s action packed rendition of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. This game isn’t talked about nearly enough for how good it is! Genuinely barely put the controller down until it was done.

It’s worth a play if you’ve never done so and this upcoming experience will showcase the game in all its glory.

Music by an insanely talented rock band “Suffer City” permeates the edit and brings the footage to life with that signature retro rock and pop inspired mood the films and Starlord is known for.

Release date for the full edit will be at the end of the trailer (no worries it’s not far off!)

Experience the moments that bind Ellie and Abby's stories together in “Ugly As I”, the channels' next experience for The Last Of Us Part II.

Revenge at any cost. Seeking redemption for past mistakes or moments of weakness. Conversations left unfinished and relationships left unexplored. All of these have one thing in common. They are all present in one way or another for both Ellie and Abby.

But what happens when the reality of what you have become stares you in the face? When the one thing you've sought while on an unrelenting journey is finally within your grasp, only to see that it will cost you your soul to obtain?

Much was made of the final moments of this game and how unsatisfying it was for most who played. But the purpose of this story is not in the ending, it is in the paths Ellie and Abby each took to get there and the ultimate decisions they made when presented with their dark desires.

No matter what, Ellie and Abby always found each other like moths to a flame. Two reflections showing that they weren't the only ones who were ugly on the inside. No matter how twisted and sadistic their images of themselves may be the reflection will never change. Ellie and Abby can both look at each other and say... "You're as Ugly As I".

With brutal, connected gameplay sequences, rare animations and music by the immensely talented Zorro, the final result is yet another one of a kind cinematic experience for The Last Of Us Part II from FIlmic.

Journey in to the broken mind of Ellie and see what the effects of a life fraught with despair, violence and fear can have on a person in the channels’ next cinematic experience.

A weaving and intense edit that takes you through the ups and downs of Ellie and Joel’s lives after the first game. It was made to revolve around one of Ellie’s most gruesome moments from the second game.

The chase of Nora had many more implications than just a chase to get information. What Ellie did to Nora, was in theory what should’ve happened to Abby. It was a moment from the game that truly broke Ellie mentally in her pursuit for vengeance. And it is one of the main reasons Ellie can’t go through with killing Abby when the time comes.

She had already inflicted so much pain and suffering up until that point that all her rage was drained and used up and the only thing left to do was grieve. Grieve the loss of a man who meant more to her than anyone else had ever meant, for trying to be her hero.

The reality was that Joel was no hero. He murdered countless people in cold blood. People with husbands, wives, and children. All in a selfish (albeit protective) effort to live the life he wanted through Ellie, at her expense.

So in turn, it’s only right that with this pain, Ellie gets thrown in to the dark path of violence and vengeance that leaves her nowhere and with no one but herself and her pain.

Not everyone can be a hero, and sometimes, trying to be one can make you the villain in your own story.

Heroes are always about the story that makes them.

“AS ONE” - Miles Morales Theatre Style Gameplay edit is out today @ 7pm over on YouTube! (Link in Bio!)

The events that form these Superheroes, are usually mirrored by events that we’ve experienced ourselves.

In Miles’ case, watching a dear friend (Phin Mason) lose themselves to rage and vengeance, after losing her brother in an honorable effort to save New York.

Miles and Phin have had similar trajectories and traumas that have led to where they were in the events of the Miles Morales game on PS5, but Miles had Peter.

Having a mentor like Peter to steer him through the anger of his dad’s death is what kept Miles on the right side of crime. Phin was not so fortunate.

With her motives being heartfelt and rooted in love, and the history between Miles and Phin being as potent as it was, Miles saw himself stuck between enabling a friends’ quest for vengeance or saving millions of lives at the cost of someone dear to him.

The spirit of Spider-Man isn’t from any one individual… Peter and Miles wear the Spider AS ONE, and they will protect the city of New York from anyone who goes against the message of the insignia they wear on their chest. Friend or Foe.

This edit takes the common Hip-Hop musical style of Miles Morales and adds a unique Trap/Hip-Hop twist that’s comes together with gameplay and cutscenes for a one of kind Theatre Style Experience that’s sure to get the blood running for Spider-Man 2’s release on October 20th.

There’s something about Dead Space’s isolation, that is horrifying to experience.

“HUNTED”, a cinematic horror experience on Dead Space(Remake) is out today 8/20/2023 at 3 pm EST over on YouTube! (Link in bio)

It’s not just about the endless expanse of danger that exists outside the walls of the Ishimura, but the rather unending terror that exists within the ship all around you.

Dead Space mastered having the player feel like a small weak prey in a maze full of predators of all shapes and sizes.

That’s what we will be exploring in this edit. The feeling of being hunted everywhere you go…. and the only way to survive is to begin doing the hunting yourself.

If you can get yourself to muster up the courage to get aggressive in Dead Space, then maybe…. just maybe you can actually make it out of this nightmare.

Too bad this game always has a way of shattering your courage just when you start to feel good.

This is the channels’ first edit of many with the Dead Space Remake from Motive Studios at EA.

“Grief changes shape… but it never ends.”

The hunt for Bode is on. Cal’s rage is at the forefront of this final epic journey for Filmic and Jedi: Survivor.

Cal’s whole adult life was molded by the teachings of Master Topal and Master Cere. But, they’re gone now and Cal has little left in his way to keep him from falling in to the pits of darkness.

Cal’s will is tested multiple times in this episode and it’s almost as if the darkness senses the grief, anger and hatred exposed in Cal’s soul and is constantly trying to take him over the edge.

Join Cal, Merrin and Greez one last time as we journey through the final stretch of Jedi: Survivor and experience an immense, beautiful flight, high octane intense fight scenes and emotionally powerful interactions between characters all edited together with unique and powerful soundtracks in a seamless cinematic experience.

This is the final edit and while the journey was amazing and the best yet at Filmic, it will be time to move on to new projects! As exciting as it is, it’s always daunting taking on a new game for a project.

“A place where the Empire can’t reach us.” - Cal Kestis

That’s what Tanalorr means to everyone who was told of its existence by Cal. This mysterious Haven planet nestled just across a tumultuous abyss of deadly galactic energy that eats any ship that gets too close, is now the last bastion of hope for those oppressed by the Empire.

Take a dive with Filmic in to the circumstances surrounding the pursuit of Tanalorr. There is really only one thing that’s keeping Cal from embracing the idea of Tanalorr. A place where no one can reach you as you’re home, would mean abandoning the galaxy to the evil of the Empire and leaving the fight.

Knowing full well what evil the galaxy is capable of with his own experiences, Cal grapples with the desire of a new home for those he loves and cares for and his newfound responsibility to the galaxy as a Jedi Knight. A doubt grows inside of him that prevents him from trusting himself and trusting in the Force.

This cinematic experience will take you on that journey with Cal and show you how he embraces his true purpose with the help of those closest to him. It seems as if all the people around Cal poured their all in to him at the right moments and molded Cal in to the Jedi he was meant to be, not the one he felt he “needed” to be.

Complete with epic gameplay from various boss fights/encounters throughout the game, and intense and emotional soundtracks throughout, this video is designed to bring chills down your spine as you along with Cal discover what it truly means to become one with the force.

What exactly does it take to turn to the dark side?

What level of deceit? What level of pain? What level of evil is enough to choose the path of no light?

These questions are at the heart of Jedi Master Dagan Gera's story. When you find something that is your own, that you nurtured from nothing, that is your home.... and then bring countless others to bask in the glory, comfort and serenity of your discovery... the last thing you would want is for that to be abruptly taken away and destroyed only for the people whom you invited in, to watch it burn right in front of your eyes and do nothing to stop it.

This Filmic Gameplay Edit will explore the pain and betrayal that drove Dagan Gera to choose the lightless path. A Jedi Knight must fight to protect what is right. However there are two ways of going about it and Cal and Dagan signify opposite ends of that spectrum.

With Cal battling with the idea that he may be fighting a battle already lost, he finally gets the break he needed when he finds Jedi Master Dagan Gera imprisoned and releases him. He believes the tide of the war will now turn against the Empire. But Dagan has had an eternity to plan his revenge and will not allow the petty grievances of an inferior Jedi Knight to get in his way of recapturing his home: Tanalorr.

With intense gameplay edited in, tremendous soundtracks used to rescore many scenes and cutscenes woven in and out of the video, experience an amazing short film on the contrasts early in the game between Dagan Gera and Cal Kestis. As different as they may be... at their cores they are both KNIGHTS. Jedi Knights that protect what is right, with light or darkness.

A new Jedi journey begins here at Filmic.

KESTIS - A Visceral, Frantic Theatre Style Gameplay Edit is out today 5/17/2023 at 8:30 pm on YouTube! (Clips here soon and link in Bio!)

From revamped gameplay mechanics, to improved physics for the force attacks and lightsaber combat, the long awaited sequel holds nothing back in an attempt to create the most cinematically sound Star Wars experience to date and place it in the palm of your hands. (Especially with the implementation of the DualSense Controller, the combat feels hefty and forceful)

We all enjoyed our time with Cal in Jedi: Fallen Order, but there’s something different about Cal this time around.

Cal seems calculated… emotionally restrained and confident right from the jump. As he should be after embracing his Jedi Knighthood in Fallen Order and destroying the Jedi holocron.

His first mission has him separated from his original crew and infiltrating the imperial capital Coruscant in pursuit of vital military intel of the Empire in the possession of a corrupt public figure: Senator Daho Sejan.

After devising a master plan to get close to the Senator, the stakes are raised tenfold when Cal and his newfound crew of mercenaries are caught off guard and attacked by an Inquisitor. The Ninth Sister Masana Tide, a former Jedi Knight.

This is where we notice the change in Cal.

“Train yourself to let go of everything you fear to lose.”

In this edit, witness Cal’s capacity to lose those closest to him and not become flustered. His focus on the force and what he needs to do to save the galaxy is paramount. He will stop at nothing and mourn no loss until he has completed that mission.

Epic soundtracks and intense gameplay moments and editing come together for a visceral opener to The Filmic Series for Jedi: Survivor.

Its been quite the journey playing through the Resident Evil 4 Remake.

Our deep dive discussion is out at 3pm on YouTube today 5/7/2023! (Link in Bio!)

Me(Cris) and my two co-hosts (Brendan and Jonny) have all completed the game and then some and have a LOT to say.

While not a completely perfect game, this remake has still left a timeless impression as the pinnacle remake of the "Remake Era" so far.

This was truly a love letter to Resident Evil 4 and it nailed the experience from beginning to end. Now that our theatre style series of edits is completed its time to break down this game to its most minute details and have a chill conversation on what impressed us the most and even the few moments that left us thinking Capcom could've done more.

We'll break down the games' many guns and upgrade trees, scariest moments, best bosses (and worst ones), strategies we found were useful and of course the stellar story itself and what we think of the future of the Resident Evil franchise now that Capcom will set its sights on either another remake or an all new installment to the franchise altogether.

Absolution is the goal of all evil.

The channels’ finale for Resident Evil 4 (ABSOLUTION) is out now on YouTube today 5/4/2023 at 8:30pm!

In this final edit Leon finally meets Osmund Saddler face to face. Quickly Leon and Ashley realize all he wants is absolute control…. Absolute power over everything and everyone in his domain.

But this time Leon knows… it has to be different. They have to survive this ordeal no matter what and the mission must be completed.

The channels most fleshed out and gameplay packed theatre style edit to date takes you on an anger filled slaughter fest through the final chapters of this epic and daunting journey.

Varied and curated soundtracks, slow mo action scenes showing some cool moments from raw gameplay, and an overall movie experience from beginning to end all combine for an epic finale to what has been an awesome series for Filmic and Resident Evil 4.

We’ve grown a ton since we started working with RE4 and the future holds amazing things as I will continue to work on other cinematic games for future projects.

Evolve.

Its one of the main themes across the story of Resident Evil 4. As much as the enemies and monsters of RE4 evolve... so does Leon and the people around him trying to survive this nightmare.

Leon must evolve as a survivor, a killer, a fighter and a strategist all at breakneck speeds as he continues to find himself in deadly situation after deadly situation.

The part of RE4 covered in this frantic, visceral theatre style gameplay edit is the section that solidified Leon Kennedy's place amongst the all time great main protagonists in gaming.

Grab your popcorn, kick your feet up and weave your way through an intense deathmatch between Leon and his old military trainer, a mincecart thrill ride gone wrong with the awesome Luis Sera, and many more amazing gameplay moments from playing through Chapters 11-14. It all culminates with the signature "Filmic" theatre style ending that leads in to the channels next and final edit for Resident Evil 4 (2023).

Watch Leon evolve in to the legend we all know and respect in order to live to fight another day and save Ashley.

The final edit of my Resident Evil 4 series is next and will be on chapters 15-16 but incorporate many moments from the game as a whole as we wrap up our Filmic experiences for Resident Evil 4 Remake (2023)!

A game filled with monumental moments. Now as an HBO show. The initial reviews have come out saying the show is delivering on the wishes of true Last Of Us fans. Plus an apparent twist was put in the end of the show that got all of the watchers going wild at the private screening recently. What are your thoughts? Quite the game A Plague: Tale Requiem has turned out to be. Just cinematically sound at every point. With some creativity and clips and gameplay from all over the initial levels of the game, combined with the orchestral genius of Artist Joe Wandrini and Composer Johannes Bornlof, I was able to create a sysnopsis of the beginning of the game that really captures the mood and visceral tone that Asobo has taken with this game right from the jump.
