Decided this evening I would move my rig from LHD (for GT3) to RHD (for jdm fun) man it took ages 🤣

But I definitely prefer it this way, once it's all set up again properly I'll do some decent filming and not with my phone again!

"WHERE DID YOU GET YOUR DIY BEZEL KIT FROM"

I'm hoping this title will be used from now on as a search term for people wishing to make their own DIY bezel kits

As much as I love posting my videos of the progress of my rig the majority of the comments come from new people who have not seen the bezel mod and I spend most of my time replying to everyone the same thing so I'm hoping this post can cover it all and I can just point people to this post to help!

This is the second rig I have built of my own and both times I have used the same method, if like me you want to do things on the cheap and don't wish to pay £100+ for an Asus rog bezel kit then there is an alternative you can do and it's cheap if you own your own 3d printer or have acsess to one (but don't worry if you don't)

The film itself I have taken out of a broken/smashed LCD TV from Facebook marketplace, sometimes you can get these for free or dirt cheap because no one wants a broken TV, I've even given my local scrapyard a tenner and raided their broken TV container before

Now some Tv's even though being LCD may not have this sheet, I don't know which do but the 3 Tv's I've taken apart only 1 didn't have this sheet so it's luck of the draw

The sheet you need is in one of the videos showing how it can bend or refract light however you want to call it, it won't be 100% 4K perfect but it's designed to just blur those pesky black bezels (and let's be honest we mainly only look at the main screen) but it is a nice mod and when taken the time to set it up can look really well done (yes there are other sheets out there that cost alot but this is a DIY page and we love saving money)

I cut my sheets about 4/5 inches wide and the length longer than the screens (vertically)

This is a good kit, they can either print the kit for you or you can purchase the files and print yourself (25+ hour print)

Thirdly I've seen someone use a triangle of cardboard and a slit to put the sheet in

The first link is by far the best, you can apply tension and it keeps the whole thing in place then you can slide the film forwards and backwards and side to side until you get the thing looking good

Another day another video!

I've been messing about with the placement of the Gopro to try and achieve some decent angles and I must say it's been difficult

Any feedback on this clip would be greatly appreciated

As well as uploading my awful driving videos 😂 I will also be offering 3D printing services to help out the community but they will be in small batches, I am based in the UK but if anyone else needs some bits I'll be happy to ship them anywhere

Generally I just print bits I find on thingiverse but if there is a specific part you need I will see what I can come up with to help 🙏
