: A horrifying incident has rocked the Shastri Park area of Delhi, where a family of six met a gruesome end after being suffocated by toxic fumes. The cause? A seemingly harmless mosquito repellant fell on their mattress, releasing poisonous gas throughout the night. As the family slept, the deadly fumes crept into their lungs, causing them to lose consciousness and ultimately leading to their tragic demise. The victims included four men, a woman, and a toddler.
The fire department received a call about the blaze at around 8.52 A.M., and three fire tenders were rushed to the scene. Upon arrival, the police found the victims had already been taken to Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital.
Joy Tirkey, DCP North East district, said in a statement, "It has been learned that a burning mosquito coil had fallen over a mattress sometime during the night. The toxic fumes caused inmates to lose consciousness and later death due to suffocation."
