About last week…✨

Such an amazing conference. I love the business aviation community and it was so great to be reunited! I’m also still pinching myself to have been included in the 40 Under 40 awards.

Just one week ago, I finished out my first competition season. It was everything I hoped it would be and so much more. Three contests across the Mid-America region and so much learned along the way. Thank you to everyone who gave me advice, let me ask a million questions, and to anyone who took the time to give me coaching. I’m so grateful and can’t wait to continue improving!

Here’s to moving up to Sportsman, to hard work, and the great friends I’ve made along the way! 🥂 This is only the beginning! 🙃❤️🎉

The Ohio Aerobatic Open was a blast! I had a great weekend competing in my last contest of the season. So many new friends and fun shenanigans, as well as great weather and awesome flying. I’m excited to move up to Sportsman, but for now I think I’ll just relax for a bit 😎🙃

Michigan Aerobatic Open • Bay City, MI • July 10-11, 2021

My first aerobatic contest is officially in the books! ✅ It’s been great to reflect on this experience the last few days & I want to share my thoughts 🙃

I won 1st Place in Primary, the Grassroots Award (aircraft with 180hp or less), and the Highest Scoring American Champion Aircraft (Decathlon)! While I didn’t have any legitimate Primary competitors due to maintenance issues, a competitor from Unlimited flew with me so my scores would be counted - thanks Hugo! 😊
At first I felt timid about sharing my win, given the facts above, but I’ve decided to be proud of my achievement. Comparing my scores to the other Primary categories at contests this year, I have a lot to be proud of! I also was able to achieve the Primary Smooth Patch and Primary Stars Achievement through the achievement awards program. It was such a great experience and I’m so grateful for all the experienced competitors who gave me tips and helped me through the weekend.

It was so awesome to see how everyone was supportive of each other. I feel so welcomed into the competition aerobatic family and have definitely made some great new friends. I cannot wait for my next contest! 🎉

This was supposed to be a blog all about my first aerobatic contest - which I was supposed to fly home from the other day. But things don’t always go to plan, do they? When things go awry and we don’t get to keep the schedule we’d like, we have to adapt. Adapt. Adjust. Build resilience. The th...

Happy National Aerobatics Day! My plane is in maintenance and the weather here sucks, so I’m left with reflections and appreciation.

I absolutely love aerobatics. I remember after my first lesson, I told my husband that I need it. It made me feel complete in such a unique way, I couldn’t imagine life without flying upside down. And he’s been so supportive every step of the way - I couldn’t ask for a better support system. .harrington 🥰

If you’ve never had the experience of flying aerobatics, I’d highly recommend it. It’s not for everyone, but for those that love it, it’s one of the best things in life! Happy flying, friends 🙃❤️

18/06/2021

“To be committed is to be dead set on achieving your goal no matter how much tedious work it takes. If you aren’t committed, then you’re only interested. Someone who is interested will dedicate some time and energy to a goal, but not enough to make it happen no matter what. It takes a certain amount of extra bravery and dedication to make the leap from interested to committed, often in the most challenging moments when nobody would blame you for quitting. The amount of hard work and the level of uncertainty it takes to be fully committed to something can be unfathomable and daunting, especially for people who have risk-averse leanings. But if you really feel your dream calling to you, then complete commitment is what it will take and nothing less.”
- Alexi Pappas, from her book Bravey

After a year of pandemic-induced sporadic work and personal travel, these last 4 weeks have certainly tried to make up for it. Since March 2nd, I’ve spent a cumulative 10 nights at home, most of them being about 10 hours to do laundry and repack. It’s been partly self-induced, but work picked up...

Today I was reminded by my Timehop app that it was 10 years ago to the day that I flew my first solo flight. I’m a pretty sentimental person, so of course this brought on a wave of emotions and reflection. It’s hard to quantify, but I feel immense gratitude for all I’ve been able to accomplish...

10 years ago today was my first solo flight! Any pilot or aspiring pilot knows the significance of this event - the first time flying a plane by yourself is like nothing else. Crazy to reminisce on how far I’ve come and how well I still remember this flight. ✈️☺️

Also the quality of these photos - yikes!! Haha a decade of technology makes quite a difference 😆
