Road tripping with my brother and dad this weekend. Missouri, Indiana, Ohio & Pennsylvania! I’m a passenger in the back seat. This doesn’t happen too often. I’m reminded of all the miles I saw life from the backseat of an old oversized black Oldsmobile. It was my mothers grandparents car that she had inherited so it was ancient even then. No cell phones or GPS. No air conditioning or automatic windows. No seat belts or cloth seats. My mom laid orange towels down so that are thighs wouldn’t stick to the hot seats. Windows were always down so we could breathe. Otherwise, it would heat up so hot and we would all overheat. We usually had a cooler filled with ice and fruit and snacks to munch on. My mom would keep a stash of bubblegum in the glove compartment to help her stay awake…so she said 🤨! I remember her always singing and laughing and making the most fun out of our car time. It’s hard to believe she’s not here.
It’s been 8 months. Our destination is to see her brother and all his family. I’m sure there will be many stories circulating about her and I will hear her laugh again, just maybe!

One of my biggest hurdles in life is talking about myself, so this is a big step for me. I’m a very private person with a lot to say. I’ve decided to step out of my comfort zone this year and share my life in hopes to inspire some of you.

My name is Susan. I’m a Virgo with an eye for detail. It’s the simple things that inspire me…the dimples on a baby’s hand, the ruffled feathers of an old bird, the sound of a flowing stream, a hoof print in the dirt. I love the wild side of life, the untamed, the raw, the grit. I love creating, designing, and dreaming. I own my own small business called ‘Wild and Worn,’ where I upcycle worn leather into unique jewelry. “The more worn, the more beautiful!” Women are this same kind of beautiful. We fight against time and social pressures to try and impress a society that values perfection. Yet, if we could embrace the very qualities that make us unique, we would shine differently…those stretch marks that took us from maiden to mother…the laugh lines that prove we have lived a happy life, the grey hair that shimmers in the sun telling the world we showed up for it…! My roots are native so this is where my inspiration takes me.

I have a hippie spirit about me. I’m a 70’s baby and feel that era has soaked into my veins. Barefoot in the grass or road tripping somewhere in my boots, there’s really no in-between. Manifesting a vintage Bronco in my near future!!!

I’m a mama and loving it. My children are my bestest friends. We enjoy doing life together, especially eating!!!! We all agree that we have our best times when we are together. I have learned many lessons in life as a mother. It’s a privilege to be feminine. We hold a portal within us that allows life to pass through us. We are divine creators and I respect my body enough to care for it and value it’s worth. I am very protective of my morning hours and sleep. I believe health is simple but the discipline behind it takes commitment. I love sun gazing, grounding, walking, and hydrating with living water…one of my biggest passions!!!
I think I’m ready to share myself and find my people. We have lost village living, but maybe this is a way to gather us from near and far and find some sort of collective family. Maybe I’m just dreaming again, or maybe it’s possible.
