Netflix docuseries “Tour de France: Unchained” filmmakers EP & Showrunner Amelia Hann and Director Jamie Batten join Vance & Nigel to discuss the unique logistical challenges of capturing such a complex and demanding sport.

Also in this episode, Nigel congratulates Vance on being admitted to the American Society of Cinematographers on the latest episode, and they tell us about a time sitting in the telecine room in the 80s when Vance thought he had blown his chances of becoming a DP.

In this special episode we join Vance & Nigel in Torun, Poland for the 30th annual Camerimage Festival, the only festival celebrating the art of cinematography. They discuss who they met up with, parties they attended, seminars they presented, and how they decided on a winner as jury members for the music video competition. Vance is also honored with a Golden Frog Award for Achievements in the Field of Music Videos and we get to hear the speech that Nigel never gave.

Camerimage’s own Joanna Żydowicz - Barciś joins our hosts at the Horzyca Theatre for a live conversation. Joanna discusses how the festival began, why cinematographers love it so much and the future of the festival. They share an emotional moment as they reflect on the impact the war in Ukraine has had in the filmmaking community.
