My name is Tammy and I am a junior in high school. Lately, I have been having trouble focusing on school because my relationship with my mom is really tense and I don’t know what to do about it.

You see, my mom had anxiety for years. My dad abandoned us when I was too young to even remember him. My mom tries to be strong, but for a long time she would randomly break down in tears and I tried to comfort her. When I was little, I barely understood what mental health was. All I knew was that my mom was super upset and I had no way to fix it. She never took her anxieties and stress out on me, because my mom is a good person. Sometimes, good people do bad things, though.
