Club DJ’s vs. everyone else
Working in the clubs in the 80’s and 90’s when there was a DJ hierarchy in the booth was how DJ’s were made and also how they were weeded out.
Learning how to coax the earliest arrivals onto the dance floor when few were in the club is a skill you can’t learn on youtube.
Learning how to program your evening to build up the energy of a crowd until it is at the peak when you want it to be. Not something taught on youtube.
Learning to respect the craft and the booth. Not on youtube.
To train and encourage the next in line to become their best. Now the insecurity of many DJ’s in not wanting anyone else to succeed greater than them is sad and selfish.
Not all DJ’s are created equal. Having some skills doesn’t make up for the many parts that are missing. Some here talk constant smack because they are half DJ’s. Some of them like to pretend they are everything when in fact they are not even half of everything.
