How to use drag-and-drop stickers in DMs
As of an update in late 2025, you can drag and drop stickers directly onto your chat screen, letting you add a fun, reactive layer to your conversations.
Open a chat with a friend in your Instagram DMs.
Access the sticker menu. Tap the sticker icon next to the message box.
Drag and drop. Tap and hold the sticker you want and drag it to any point on the chat screen to place it.
Doodle over messages. This update also lets you draw over your chats using the doodle feature, adding another layer of personalization to your conversations.
