I can’t say enough about Kait @kane9dogtraining and my experience with her as a coaching client ❤️ Kait came to me with so many skills already, so our sessions were more about focusing her on videos that would lead to her goals, instead of wasting time on videos that didn’t feel as exciting anymore. Creating a strategy and planning is such a fun part of coaching, and doing it with Kait was a dream!! Look out for her, big things are coming! 🥰
If you want to know more about coaching with me, just fill out the short form at the link in my bio! And if you are looking for more in depth editing, planning, strategy help, join the Facebook group! Link also in the bio!❤️
Rudi @earlthepittie is one of those clients that stay with you. From our first session I thought - wow this girl is a powerhouse and I don’t think she knows it ❤️ she had great ideas, strong visions and goals, so all we did was find a way to bring those visions to life in a way that would make videos fun for her again.
I’m so grateful to you Rudi! Can’t wait to snorkel 🤿 ❤️❤️❤️
🥺🥺
We all know Bethany @walkingdogtraining for her sparkling personality, humor, out-of-this-world beautiful graphics, supportive and relatable words of wisdom, dog training and storytelling skills, but did you know she is also a dream to work with? (I’m sure you could guess❤️) Bethany and I have been co-hype women to each other for awhile, so when I had the chance to work with her as a coaching client, let’s just say I was ready and thrilled ❤️
Coaching is so much more than working on the technical skills of editing and planning/creating videos (though we do that!) It is also goal setting, strategizing for your business’ future, knocking down all the things that are getting in the way of you being the person you know you can be, and helping those you know need your help! It is making videos and video marketing FUN again by creating videos that speak to you, not just to what you think you are supposed to do.
I am so lucky to have worked with this gem 💎 of a human and I am so excited to see what she does next. Thank you for this video Bethany and for all the 🥺😭
Tough love time😅
Guys! When people see black bars on your videos (or those blurred bars some apps do to turn a vertical video into a square) most just keep on scrolling.
Black bars on your videos are distracting and useless, and they make the action and content in the video feel removed and far away! So let’s avoid these at all costs — we are in 2021, we can do it!
Use an app like Splice or InShot to get the right aspect ratio so we can see your face and video in full frame as we scroll. Stay away from apps that want to turn your videos into squares, they are mostly outdated. I know things like IGTV etc can get tricky with aspect ratios, so leave a comment if there is something you would like me to explain in a future video. ❤️
Also! I started a Facebook group (link in the bio) for us to discuss all things video creation and editing. Nice people only, you know how crazy FB can get lol!
How to look great on camera:
Get on camera!!!
(No one has to know 😉)
Eventually you will like it, I promise. ❤️
Too many options = anxiety ⚡️
(Just like for the dogs lol)
Remove the obstacles in your way towards making videos. And once you find consistency, then it will be easy to add fancy stuff and level up your video game (trust me I love fancy stuff!!)
But until then, just use the iPhone 😉📱
I see a lot of people get caught up in what videos they “should” be making. (And I get it!) But it is really the quickest way to not making any videos at all!
Ask yourself:
✔️What videos do I love making?
✔️What videos do I love watching?
✔️What subjects do I love talking about?
If you feel stuck, start by making a video that is fun to YOU — don’t worry about the likes or the views, you don’t even need to post it. Then keep inching toward the type of video that you love AND is helpful to your audience. Once you find that, your video creation process will so much easier. ❤️
🎥 Where you put your camera matters!
Watch your favorite TV show/movie to see how they use different shots to incite different feelings and reactions from the audience:
✔️Wide shot: You get to see motion, action, “doing”, surroundings and location of your character
✔️Closeup: You feel intimate with the character, part of their world, you are getting close to what they are experiencing and feeling
✔️Extreme Closeup: You are “one” with the character, you see what they see, you feel what they feel!
You may not be creating a show for HBO, but you should try to make videos that are compelling and exciting for your audience! Start by bringing them a little closer to you 😉
As always, tag me when you do it so I can stalk you 👀!
Guys I have only seen “Friends” when I‘ve gotten my nails done so my references are clearly weak 😅 but hopefully you get the idea!!
Find your “sets” and stick to them! Of course you can deviate, but consistency and familiarity help your audience focus ❤️ I will put some examples in my stories!
Also side note I did NOT want to post this video because I wasn’t so sure about it and I’m still not but here we are and I’m trying to set a good example for you guys so POST THE VIDEO I’m talking to you!! okay thanks!!!
🎞 I love voiceover videos but would prefer to see your gorgeous face, so here is this National Geographic/News Anchor-ish style video as an alternative!
Do this by layering two clips and cropping and repositioning the top layer, or you can just use the “video in video” feature in iMovie! Message me with any Qs 💌
Try it this weekend and don’t forget to tag me @seenheardfelt or send it to me! I’m always watching 👀
