What is delaying our roads? Gwagwalada resident engage council boss

Residence of Old Kuntunku, a small community in Gwagwalada Area Council, FCT have raised eyebrow over what they described as delayed completion of FRCN-old Kutunku road in the area which is currently under construction.

A resident named Ibrahim Ndar Burka, took to a social media platform, Facebook to air his grievances concerning the delayed completion of the road by contractors. Burka informed that the delayed completion of the Old Kuntunku road has made it possible for the project to always find its way into the council's yearly budget.

"For how long will the feverish birds treble before their age keepers? For how long will this shot kilometer of road will be budgeted year in year out. What is worth doing is worth doing well."

Condemning the poor level of work done so far, Burka lamented the competency of the contractors, wondering if the contract was awarded to a political allay of the Chairman, thus the negligence.

"Look at the end of the construction as you climb the hill going to kaida, It becomes narrower leaving the old gutter and creating new one as if it is a pathway to the interior farmland. This is very ridiculous and after all this shabby work, some peoples will still come to supervise it and give it a node." He wrote.

He therefore, called on the Area Council Chairman to as a matter of Urgency embark on routine inspection of the project site to ensure quality job is done.

Burka's post reads in part:

"What is happening to the ongoing road construction from FRCN junction to old kutunku. Is the contractors not competent to handle such a shot kilometer of road. Or was this project given to the political elite who have no knowledge of road construction. It is as a matter of urgency for the the honorable chairman and his subordinate to find time be young their tight scheduled to pay a visit and inspect the ongoing project and see things for themselves."

Reports has it that the two kilometre road project was first awarded to Tech Style Engineering limited since 2011 with the then Council Chairman, Alhaji Zakari Angulu Dobi lamenting the slow pace of the project.
