The world-famous Lebanese designer Elie Saab held a lavish display in Saudi Arabia last week called “The 1001 Seasons of Elie Saab” to commemorate 45 years in the business.

Designer Rohit Bal, a trailblazer who dressed celebrities globally, helped establish Indian fashion on the international scene, passed away on Friday night after suffering a heart attack at 63.

He braved his illness to make a triumphant comeback on the runway of Lakme Fashion Week X FDCI 2024.

Bal dressed Hollywood names such as Cindy Crawford and Naomi Campbell during his career. In India, his designs were worn by Deepika Padukone, Arjun Rampal and others.

Rachel Gupta, 20, from Jalandhar, Punjab, is the first Indian and third Asian to win the Miss Grand International title.

She began modelling at eighteen and won the Miss SuperTalent of the World title in 2022 in Paris. In her final statement, Rachel urged world leaders to ensure adequate resources for everyone and promote mutual respect.

The runner-ups included Safietou Kabengele from France, Thae Su Nyein from Myanmar, and Christine Juliane Opiaza from the Philippines.
India last came close to the title in 2018 with Meenakshi Chaudhary as the first runner-up.

Ethnic and bridal wear brand Kalki unveiled its ‘Mushk’ collection on day five of Lakme Fashion Week in partnership with FDCI.

The new bridal line features embroidered jackets, flowing wide-legged pants, structured peplums, fishtail skirts, and lehengas, while the groom’s collection includes embroidered blazers, hand-crafted sherwanis, and ethnic zipper jackets.

Commenting on the experience, Shraddha Kapoor said in a press release, “Walking for Kalki for the first time was incredible. The Mushk collection felt very personal, especially this lehenga with its beautiful banarasi touch, which made me feel elegant and connected to my roots.”
