Hi everyone,
I've been putting off making this announcement because it's a very bittersweet one. I've made the difficult decision to put the podcast on indefinite hiatus. I'll get up to episode 100, because that's a nice round number to end on, and then there will be no more episodes for the foreseeable future.
I still enjoy podcasting, but my life is in a very different place than when I started the Memory Gauge way back at the tail end of 2020! My attention is being pulled in different directions, and I just don't have the time and focus to keep making the podcast to the schedule and quality I think you all deserve. Rather than stuck in a rut where each episode takes way too long and is a struggle to produce, I've decided to put a pin in the show definitively, on my own terms.
When I began the show, I had a few aims. My first aim was to create a show about the Digimon Card Game, that I would enjoy listening to. I think I was successful there - I'm really proud of the show. My second aim was to help grow the Digimon Card Game community, and I think I've been successful there too. Everyone here, in the Discord, and all the listeners of the show, have formed an amazing community beyond anything I dreamt would happen when I first sat in front of that microphone. Your passion and kindness have meant the world to me these past three years.
That's why I say this announcement is bittersweet, not sad. I hate endings, which is why I'm calling this a hiatus rather than an ending. I want to leave the door open to return in the future if circumstances allow. I'll also keep the Discord open, still hang out here, and I aim to even keep up the box opening streams and the January Series tournaments.
Thank you all for your support these last three years. And thank you so much for listening!
This is the Memory Gauge - logging out.
