Join like-minded artists, activists, educators, industry professionals, entrepreneurs, and emerging leaders as we come together for the purpose of empowering community, healing, build relationships and connecting with peers, mentors, and community members.

We’re are back and better. Save the date! The Black Space Summit & Symposium is Back and our goal is to empower our community and promote sustainable solutions. Today we want to announce Afro Van Connects Fall Event The 2023 Black Space Summit & Symposium (Sept 21-24)! The Black Space Summit & Symposium 2023 wants to welcome all members of our community including BIPOC, LGBTQ2IA, and our Allies into a space that centers the experiences of African Descent people.

The Black Space Summit and Symposium will unite artists, activists, professionals, and educators within the African Descent community to honour our heritage, strengthen our community, and capacity build for the future. As a community we will explore new approaches and modalities that will inspire all of us to connect, mobilize, and create the change we want to see.

A Pi Theatre production, Black & Rural by Shayna Jones is on until April 15th at Pacific Theatre. This is a show you definitely dont want to miss. .theatre

Black & Rural is the story of a lone Black country woman struggling to defy the monolith of what matters to Black lives. Derived from dozens of real-life interviews with Black folk tucked away on the countryside across Canada, Shayna Jones weaves together a story of vulnerability, quiet triumph, and striking humanity. The show features Shayna's unique storytelling voice, interspersed with new folkloric tales and verbatim reflections from her interviewees.
