Hey There, People!
We are honoured to host Ms. Ankna Arockiam, a versatile mezzo soprano from Hyderabad who currently resides in Glasgow, Scotland.
Ms. Ankna is currently pursuing her Doctorate studies in Music and Sociology from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Her main area of study is exploring the musical, cultural and social identities of young people learning Western classical music in India. A dextrous classical singer, she has roots in Indian classical music and Bharatanatyam as well.
All thanks to her background, Ms. Ankna’s projects range from performing Classical music, to creating experimental and fusion music in her collaboration with other similar artists, to starting conversations for musical voices to be heard. Her musical endeavours are not limited to performing - she is actively involved in conducting workshops, masterclasses, volunteering events, and administrative roles.
